Vacation ~ Sea Island, GA Part 1

Happy Monday!  I took a week off of blogging due to we went on vacation!  It was so nice to finally take a trip and have a change of scenery after a long summer.  We took off last week to meet up with my in-laws in Sea Island, Georgia for the week.  I had not seen them in almost 2 years so it was fun to hang out again, especially when it was in such a beautiful place.  We stayed at the Cloisters Resort, which has hosted past presidents for the G8 Summit.
From wikipedia,"The G8 summit is an annual meeting between leaders from eight of the most powerful countries in the world. The aim is to try to tackle global problems by discussing big issues and planning what action to take. The leaders of the countries meet every year in a different member country. "

Here is some scenery from the hotel.  It was all breathtaking.
The exterior of the hotel
We saw a rainbow the first night.
The lobby
This is where we sat to eat breakfast the first morning.

Interior views of the hotel
We actually hung out in this room as a group two different nights.

The backside of the hotel

The chapel
Our room was in the building on the right
This is the door into our room.
It had 2 queen beds, a chair and a table with 2 chairs.
The bathroom was so nice.  The mirror had bluetooth where we could play music.  There was a double closet and lots of storage space.
Through another door, there was a separate sink, bathtub, shower, and water closet.  The amenities were so nice.
We had a river view from our balcony.
It was so cool to see the Palm Tree, Live Oak Tree, and Magnolia Tree growing in the same area.
The balcony in the center on the 2nd floor was our room.

Clearly, this place is quite lovely.  However, sometimes, it almost seemed a little too fancy for me, but it was always stunning.  We didn't eat on property because it was out of our price range.  We brought food and ate in our room for breakfast and lunch and then we went off property for dinner.  That plan actually worked out great, gave us lots o flexibility, and certainly saved a lot of money.

Part 2 with some family pictures coming tomorrow!
