Talking About it Tuesday/Fall Decor ~ Sepember 17, 2024

In honor of the first official day of fall this upcoming Sunday, I am sharing my fall decor for this year.
Once again, I like that I re-arrange this a little different each year!

Last Friday, I pulled out my fall decor and I am so glad I put some out this year.  It does bring me cheer to see it in my home!
My daughter painted this pumpkin patch scene below.
In my kitchen, I have a few small touches like this painted ceramic pumpkin that my daughter also painted and some fall dish towels, not pictured (she also did the other 2 pieces of art on this shelf).
I also have this cute fall plate which was a gift from sweet Jennifer!
Dining room table
I have a few fall pumpkin pillows on the sofa.
I love that my lights come on year round on a timer on my mantle & below my tv.  I do this during the summer months as well.
These faux flowers & vase were a new addition last year.
I have a picture of me & my girls from 2 years ago at Thanksgiving displayed.
In my holiday jar, I added pumpkins for this season.
I love this picture of the mall in Central Park taken at fall.
Coffee table decor
In my bathrooms, I have fall soaps and candles.  These are my easy decorating staples for every season.

All of these items make me feel cozy at home, ready for some cool temperatures and soups!

Have a great day!

Fall Decor ~ September 25, 2023

Hello Monday!  Hello blog friends!  I am linking up today sharing my fall decor in light of the first day of fall that occurred Saturday, along with a weekend re-cap as well.

Fall at home....
It looks a little hidden in this picture, but I added a thankful sign on my entryway table.
A few fall pillows on the sofa
The vase on the mantle is a new addition this year.
I picked this up at TJ Maxx last week.
Just a simple pumpkin candle on the coffee table, with a few pumpkins in a bowl.
Above my cooktop is a painting my daughter did at a women's paint class she taught a few weeks ago.
Fall colors on the kitchen table

Outdoor table on back porch
In the guest bath, we have fall soap, candle and a little pumpkin.
I bought this pretty hand soap, which smells amazing for my bathroom.

The weekend was pretty laid back, but I was able to get some little things done around the house and relax too, which felt nice. I also did some cooking which, I will share more of later this week.
Saturday night, my husband and I went to our local AAA baseball game where it was Grizzlies night.  Desmond Bane, one the Memphis Grizzlies starting players, threw out the first pitch and it was fun to be there.  It was a great game and the weather was perfect. I'm so thankful for a nice weekend at home.

Go enjoy fall and cooler weather this Monday!

Fall Decorations 2020

Happy Wednesday!  I am sharing my current fall decorations with you guys and linking up with Sarah and Emily.  These are always such fun posts to see of others.  Like so many others, I love fall, which will officially be here next Tuesday! Pumpkins of any color are pretty and cooler temperatures are always welcome too, so bring on fall!

I really like the fall colors of this wreath, but I also have another one I usually pull out for October with pumpkins, so this is my September wreath :).
I bought this table runner at TJ Maxx a few years ago and am still a fan of the neutral colors for our dining room table.  I bought the dough bowl, which was a gift, filler from Kohls.

This year I pulled out our black and white gingham table cloth for a different look this year.  Normally, I use more golden colors.  I bought these placemats at a thrift store in Georgia this summer. I have some fall colored cloth napkins, with some faux pumpkins on a pumpkin tray in the center.
I have added a "Grateful" pillow on our couch and will pull out some more pumpkin pillows next month.
I have some pumpkin accessories on my fireplace for display. Below is the same picture, but at night, our lights come on by the wreath and I have some orange lights by our pumpkins.
I don't talk about him much, but there is our dog on our back porch outside the window.

Fall Scents/Let's Look at School Pictures

Happy Wednesday blog friends!  Today I am linking up for 2 different topics.....

Fall Scents and Let's Look at...School Pictures

First up....fall scents.  I love most any fall scent like cinnamon, pumpkins, spices, etc.  At this time, my fall candle I am burning is this one I found on clearance from Altar'd State, but I also saw it sold at Anthropologie.  The scent is Baltic Amber, which smells good, and the candle it self is in such a pretty jar and I love the fall color of it as well.  Also, I think it will have a long burn life!

For bathroom soaps, I am a fan of Bath and Body Works hand soaps, especially in the holiday season. Here are two I plan on opening soon.  With all the extra washing of hands these days, it is fun to have scents we enjoy!  I would love to hear of any other fall scented hand soaps you like and where you buy them.

Now a peek into Let's Look at School Pictures.
I am throwing these back to my girls pictures.  My old school pictures are in a frame at my parents house and not sure if I have any or not here.
Back to when we homeschooled and the girls were part of Veritas.
One of my favorite pictures of my youngest :)
Fast forward to 5th and 8th grade when we were living in Bogota, Colombia.  The girls were still homeschooled at this point.
Year 2 in Bogota, they started traditional school for the first time, yet really not so traditional since we were living in another country.  Isabella was the only American in the high school and Brook was one of 2 Americans in her grade.  This was a small, Christian school.  Every day, they rode on the school ruta, which was the white van you see in the picture below.  They had to be in the lobby of our building by 6:20 every morning.  It took 45 minutes to an hour to get to school, depending on traffic.  The days were very long.
Year 3, Brook returned to homeschooling.  This was taken on the balcony of our 16th floor apartment overlooking the Andes mountains.
Isabella returned to the same school for her 10th grade year.  We moved back to the USA mid year and she finished 10th grade homeschooled again in the USA.
This is day one of  11th and 8th grade, homeschooled living back in the USA.
The next year, we found a public school for Brook where she could explore her art talent & it has been a great experience for her.  This first day was a hard one for me to watch her get out of the car and go to school for the first time stateside.  She walked into a high school of 2000 students and didn't know a soul.  She has come a long way in the past 2 years.
Isabella continued homeschooling her senior year.

Today, Brook is in her junior year and Isabella is in her 2nd year of college.

I am thankful for this post just for me to look back on some of their school years.  My goodness, don't they go by quick?

Enjoy a fall scent as we wait on fall temperatures and enjoy your time at home with the kids too!
