Friday Favorites ~ August 28, 2020

Happy Friday!  It's almost September and I am thankful to have some favorites this week.

ONE
I actually got these last week, but I found this awesome pair of boots for the winter on a clearance rack at Altar'd State.  I have only been in our local store a few times, but I really like it and my daughter and I always find something in the sale/clearance area.

TWO
This year, I only made 2 purchases from the Nordstrom sale.  I honestly didn't need that much and budget is quite the priority these days for us.  One of my purchases is a Christmas gift, so I wont' share that here, but I did purchase me a pair of shoes for this fall/winter.  These are the zip up sneakers, which are waterproof.  I am looking forward to using these in the near future.

THREE
Call me silly, but one of the little things that makes me happy is when I mow the grass and then it rains.  I love rain on a freshly mowed yard!

FOUR

I have been a space fan for the last 10 years and I watched a program this week on Disney Plus called Apollo:  Missions to the Moon.  These 2 pictures really struck me as beautiful with the American Flag on the moon where you can see footprints and then of course, the moon in the sky.  This is very interesting to watch if you're interested in space and have access to Disney Plus.

FIVE

Without a doubt, the highlight of my week was seeing my greats and holding the newest great.

Praying everyone is safe from the storms in the South these past few days.

Weekend Wrap Up ~ Babies and Brandon

Happy Monday folks!  Friday night was spent grocery shopping and doing some cleaning because I was going out of town Saturday.  I did make time for a Hallmark movie too though!

Isabella went on a retreat this weekend, so Brook and I went to visit my brother and sister-in-law for the night.  My sister also went with us and we enjoyed our time together.

Saturday morning before we left the area, we made a stop to go see my greats. It had been a month since I had seen them, so it was time.
We took them a Valentine goody bag with some books, graham crackers and 2 small Hershey bars.

She enjoyed them, but he wasn't too sure of the new texture, so he wouldn't take a bite.

On our trip, I was also able to visit with our sweet friend, Leah.  So thankful for this sweet girl.

My brother, sister-in-law, 2 of their kids, my sister, Brook and I went to dinner.  This was the only picture I took and sure wished we had a group picture taken.  This is Brook and Eden and sorry it is a blurry picture, but these cousins sure love each other!

We took a walk Sunday morning.

Brother and sisters photo.  I love them and am extremely thankful for my siblings.

Sunday night when we returned home, Brook gave me a basic manicure, which was lovely.  We watched some of the Olympics and then it was time for work prep and bedtime.

Praying today for my sister who will go to a funeral this week for a high school classmate and good friend.  Another reminder of how life is short.

Weekend Wrap Up

It was a busy weekend for me, but a fun one.  Friday fun began with Brook and I spending time with my niece and my greats.  So no better way to start a blog post than cute baby photos!

I love these babies so much.  My heart was full being with them.

Friday night, Brook had a spend the night birthday party for a friend at a hotel and the mom, who is a good friend of mine, asked if I would join them as an extra chaperone and to keep her company.  It was a fun night for all of us.

Saturday night, we had dinner with some good friends and church on Sunday to wrap up our weekend.

As a reminder, prayers appreciated as we begin day one of adjustments for our family as I return back to work today.  Thank you!

Weekend Wrap-Up ~ 1 Crawford's First Birthday Party

This past weekend we celebrated my great niece who turned one year old.  We all adore this little girl.

Big brother woke up and was doing the cutest little head tilt!
There was a delicious and pretty brunch served.
Love you Crawford!
Brother wanted some cake too.

She was getting all cleaned up after her cake.
Lots of photos were being taken of this girl!

Brook and her friend, Catherine, dressed similar for church Sunday.

Sunday afternoon, we went to see The Greatest Showman movie and it was very good and interesting to learn the story.  Today, we have my in-laws coming in town for a few days, so always an incentive to clean up the house!

Thanksgiving

We are post Thanksgiving and full on into the Christmas season!
Thanksgiving was a good day for our family & I hope you enjoyed yours too.

Avery spent the morning duck hunting, while I watched some Hallmark movies.  I then watched the parade, made some breakfast and the girls and I decorated the Christmas tree.

In the afternoon, we headed to my niece's house to eat with family, & of course, that meant time with my greats!

All my favorite turkeys :)

They received some Christmas books.

Campbell really liked the paper & box, ha!

Then they got their Christmas pajamas.

Then it was time to get ready for bed.

Holding all our babies

It was a good day with good food & great company.

  1. What gives you energy? What takes it away?  Good music, hugs from my daughters & greats & laughter with friends gives me energy...
