Talking About it Tuesday ~ Dollar Tree & Other Beauty Shopping

Good morning!  Today I am highlighting some products I bought at Dollar Tree over the weekend & also some of my other recent beauty products I have purchased and used.

Here are some highlights from my basket:

I like the shape of this door mat.  As you know, nothing at Dollar Tree is a $ anymore!  This mat was $7.

I bought a new lighter to use for my outside fireplace.  I usually use my re-chargeable lighters for my candles inside.  I bought some candy for my greats, tissue, makeup wipes and some beauty items.
I have mixed these bronzer drops with my sunscreen foundation and it gave my face a glow.  This lip oil was hydrating and a good top coat to lipstick.  I haven't used the chrome nail polish yet, but I am intrigued.  It is a powder you put over your gel nail polish.
This lip pencil has a liner on one end and a fill color on the other.  It comes with a sharpener too and I like this product!
This is a lip kit I got for my birthday from Sephora as one their birthday rewards.
This is a serum I will use in the mornings.
This is a eye liner pencil.

This next product is one I ordered online from a company called Luxe.  It is a color changing foundation that adapts to your skin.  It goes on white and then changes color as you rub it in your skin.
I bought some derma plane blades and loved using this product!
I use this neck cream several times a week.
This is an under eye concealer I use most days and is one of my favorite products.
This has become one of my favorite mascaras!

I bought this a while back and need to use it more frequently on my nails. I do like the texture of this.

This is my favorite brow pencil.
I sometimes alternate which cleaning balm I use, but this is the one I am currently using.

I also alternate often with different serums, most of them being a variety of Vitamin C for brightening.
The last product I am highlighting today is this face mask.  This face mask is unusual in that you sleep with it and peel it off the next morning.  I did this last night and it feels so good!  This was originally recommended from the Big Boo Podcast.

Thanks for reading along today!

Share Our Lives ~ April 8, 2024

Happy Monday!   I'm linking up with these bloggers to share favorite make up and hair products this month.

Favorite Make Up Products:

This has become a staple product for me every day underneath my makeup.
I switched last year to stick blush and I don't think I will go back to the powder.  This brand works well for me.  I have also used the Tarte stick blush and really like it to, but only get that when it is on sale.
I use this eyeshadow most days.  I have also switched from powder eye shadow to stick.  It applies better for me & seems to have more lasting power for me as well.
As far as foundation and mascara go, I rotate between different brands, so I don't have any brand loyalty there.

Favorite Hair Products:

I love using this style of a hair dryer to dry and style my hair.  I just ordered this new one this week.

Before I use the hair dryer, straightner or curling tool, I always use heat protectant and this has been my go-to brand lately.
A few years a go,  a friend introduced me to this brand for dry shampoo.  It is the only brand I use now.  If you need to find a good dry shampoo, try this one!

Tomorrow I will come back with my weekend re-cap!

Have a good Monday!

At Home Dip Manicure Review

Today I am doing a review on my new at home dip manicure set.  Last year, I began going to the nail salon to get a dip manicure.  I averaged going about every 3 weeks or so & for the most part, was plesed with the result.  I am trying to cut back on some spending, although my Amazon account this month may disagree, so I invested in this new set, Nail Boo & the Bask LA.   Have you heard of either of these?

First review is the Bask LA Steam Pro.

This has great reveiws for removing all different types of nail polishes, including the dip powder.
When you remove the lid, there is a small bowl inside where you pour in 100% acetone.  You turn it on to heat up and then put your fingers in to steam off the polish.  I have used this 3 times now and to be honest, I haven't had the success I had hoped.  It definitely loosens up the polish, but it has still been difficult to remove it.  I am going to try it a few more times because this has such great reviews.  I may not be using enough acetone, but I'm not sure why my results are not like the ad.
However, I have been pleased with the dip nail polish set, Nailboo.  With the set, you get a base powder, the base, activator, top coat, color choice, nail clips, cuticle tool, and brush.  I chose the build your own powder dip kit and chose 4 colors.  Ten nail clips are included with this to use for removal.  I may try this method next time I remove polish.  With these, you cover your nails with acetone and then put the clip over the nail to remove the polish.

Here are 2 colors I have tried so far:
This was my first application & below is the second.  I felt I did a little neater application on the second try.
Overall, I have enjoyed doing my own nails and think it is a good invenstment.  After 2 applications, it is worth the cost of investing in this vs. what I would pay at the nail salon.  They do advertise it will last up to 6 weeks, which is a long time for any manicure to last.  Mine have lasted 2 weeks.  I hope to try a new color this weekend and will report back on any updates of the removal system.
I have been using cuticle oil on my hands each day to keep them from becoming too dry.

This Nailboo system has great reviews and has surpassed some other kits I have tried in the past.

Enjoy your Wednesday and would love to hear any nail tips or what you have tried!

Make-Up Routine

I am sharing today some of my current/favorite make-up products.  I have a few things I really like, but most of it seems to be a lot of revolving products, based on being influenced by many of you:).  First, here is an overview of some of the products I have on hand now:

Below are my foundation products.  I have been using SuperGoop Glow Screen as my sunscreen for a few years now, which is also lightly tinted.  Last fall, I heard about Saint Jane sunscreen, from The Big Boo podcast.  This is a primer, moisturizer and sunscreen all in one.  Once I finish my current Glow Screen, I will try this Saint Jane and see what I think.  After applying sunscreen, I have used Tarte Skin Treat Tinted Moisturizer.  This is sold through Tarte, Ulta, Target and other places as well.   As much as I have liked this, I am going to try Cover Girl + Olay Simply Ageless foundation next.  I was able to get some on sale recently, so I will have it when needed. I also have some Tarte under eye concealer, but I don't use this every day.

I recently also purchased these blush sticks by E.L.F.   I had been wanting to try these instead of a powder blush and I am a fan.  I purchased 2 colors, dazzling peony and luminous berry .  I sometimes add a bronzer (not pictured) and follow up with a powder. I have a Laura Mercier setting powder and also just recently ordered Airspun face powder.

Moving on to the eyes, I have become a fan of stick eye shadow.  I am currently using two colors/brands: Laura Mercier Caviar stick in strapless and Ulta beauty cream eye shadow stick in I lilac you a lot.  I also want to try Julep eyeshadow sticks, as recommended by Tanya.  I have been a fan of Stila eyeliner, as recommended by Sheaffer.  I also use an eyebrow brush as well.  For mascara, I am currently using Get Big Lashes by Essence, but am also a big fan of Lash Princess by Essence.

On to the lips, I have a jar of random lip products that I will use from time to time.  However, as influenced by Jennifer, I just received this lipstick set by Qibest.  It comes with a variety of colors and can be ordred from Amazon.  I am using a lip liner pencil by NYX.

In the next few weeks, I am going to share a new manicure set I ordered and do a review.  I have only used it once and want to see how this holds up before I review it, so another beauty review will be coming up in a few weeks.

Hang in there....January is halfway over!
