Work Events

Today I am sharing a little bit about some recent work events.  I work part time at a non-profit organization and we moved to a new office late summer.  We celebrated with an open house last month and here are some pictures from the day.

We had a some awesome balloon arch decorations in front of the house that is our new office.
We had lots of great desserts and drinks.

We also had a photo booth!
Here I am along with my co-workers.
These are 2 of our faithful volunteers and they have been such sweet friends and prayer warriors for me.
Here is my desk with a fall candle.  I love seeing my desk clean, but it is usally covered up with papers and packages.
Here is the mantle in my office and I added a few fall touches to it!

The next day, we helped a company with their service project, which took place at The Peabody Hotel, the famous hotel in Memphis and the South.  It was a fun way to spend a Friday morning.
The hotel is famous for their ducks, so we got a chocolate chip duck shaped cookie.

We also had a fundraising event in Chattanooga.
I was thankful to have my daughter with me volunteering there.

I recently just started another part-time job, but I am able to do it from home and am only working 4 hours a week with that job, so it isn't adding too much to my week.

This is a little peek into my work life!

Weekending ~ September 19, 2022

A little late good morning post, but good Monday morning!

Before I highlight a few things of the weekend, first, today is my husband's 50th birthday!
I found this Birthday Cake candle at TJ Maxx, my go-to candle place.
A few decorations I put up in our house
We will celebrate by having dinner with friends tonight.

Friday, I drove to visit my oldest and help with a work event.  I got there early and took in the beautiful scenery.  I was thinking how much I love the cities where my girls live!  I met Isabella for lunch and then I worked the rest of the day with my boss and volunteers.  Isabella was able to meet us for dinner too.
The sky captured my attention during this part of my drive where I could see the rays coming through the clouds.
We ate at one of our favorite restaurants and this is the only place I usually splurge on the bread.  It is so good!
Dinner Friday night was Mexican food.

I had to be at my work event at 8am Saturday morning and worked there until noon.  Isabella came a little later to help, then we went to lunch and I went on my way.  I was able to take her grocery shopping Friday and get her a tank of gas, so those are important roles for me when I come in town :).

I drove to my next work event, about 2 hours away.  It was a beautiful night in a beautiful setting.  There was food and live music from some of the top song writers in country music.

It is always strange, but a little nice to stay in a hotel room by myself.  I was so tired, I wasn't there much and never even turned on the tv.  I drove home Sunday afternoon and here we are for Monday.

Wishing you a good day!

Work Transition

Last week, I had my last day at my current job.  I worked a very early shift, so it was nice this last day to turn off all my alarms :).  I did this at 4:53am.  I left my house at 5:15 every morning.
I found this sweet note on the kitchen counter before work Friday morning.
It is still dark when I enter my building.
I am so thankful for these 2 sweet friends.  They were the ones who threw me a baby shower for Brook 14 years ago.  I love them and will miss them.

These 2 ladies have been my saving grace at work.   I also love them and will miss every day sitting and laughing with them.  They gave me the most thoughtful basket with a blue theme since they "will be blue without me" as the card read.
These 2 friends and I worked together 25 years ago.  It was fun to re-connect, although it was only for a short time since they were our newest employees.
This sweet lady was my supervisor and helped me with questions every day with a smile.  She is so great to work with.
I am thankful for this opportunity, even though it was very hard at times for me transitioning back to the working world.
Pulling out of the complex for the last time.....
It was a little bittersweet leaving some great people, but I am so enjoying some time off before I begin my new job.

Work Life

One month into my new job and I thought I would show you a glance of where I spend most of my time these days.
This is my desk.  Notice my hammock under my desk I use for my feet.   It is literally a game changer for me!  It helps my legs so much. Otherwise, I don't think I could sit as much as I do.  I also don't have a phone yet, which will be coming soon.

I have pictures of family hung with string and clothes pins so that I can display more photos without taking up frame space.  I have lotion, kleenex, and this canister of mints on my desk.

I also have a desk lamp and a small fan.  Most people keep both a fan and a sweater at their desk because it varies from hot to cold!

My drawer organizers, compliments of the Dollar Tree, hold my basic office supplies I brought with me.  I also have hand sanitizer, lip balm, essential oil for stress relief, and a hand mirror.

I also have a drawer full of snack supplies :).  I keep hot chocolate for the office Keurig, my mug, a water cup, plastic silverware, straws, plates, snacks and medicine.

As I enter more of a daily work routine, pray I can be ontime, have good productivity with few errors, and be an encouragement to others.
