Stranded ~ Christmas Movie Edition

It has been a few months since I have participated in the Stranded series, but today is the years end of this series and the topic is Christmas Movies.  So, my top 3 movies I would want if I was stranded on an island are as follows:
1. Christmas Vacation
This has become a classic Christmas movie and a favorite one to quote.

2.  Elf
Elf is becoming a classic and a family favorite.  Will Ferrell, Christmas and New York City?  Some of my favorites for sure.

3. Four Christmases

Vince Vaughn and Reese Witherspoon are some of our favorites.  I remember Avery and I laughing out loud when we originally saw this movie at the theater.

Honorable mention:
4.  The Holiday
A classic love story with humor

And of course, I could just take the Hallmark Channel and have my fill of Christmas movies for a month!

Stranded ~ Halloween Candy Edition

We are enjoying our week with Isabella being home on fall break, so things are more relaxed at our house.  Brook is still doing school, but it is still an easier schedule around here without school pressures. We even were able to go out to eat last night and hang out with the Floyds!

Here is this month's edition of Stranded where each month we highlight 3 things from a category we would want on a deserted island. This month's focus is Halloween candy.

First.......candy corn

I think this is kind of like Easter Peeps....you either like it or you don't.  I like it for a snack and I like it for decorating :)

Second......fall colored M & M's

M&M's are some of my favorite candy, so make it fall colors, and it is just more fun to eat, add into other snacks. and also use for decorating.

Third....Starburst Jelly Beans, all red flavor please

I am not a fan of regular Starburst.  If I am given one or the girls are given one, we throw them away.  In my opinion, I think they are the worst candy for your teeth.  However, turn that candy into a jelly bean, and I am sold.

Happy candy month!

Stranded ~ Movie Edition

This month for the Stranded series, the theme is which 3 movies would you want with you if you were stranded on a deserted island.  I am just thankful I will have a way to watch these :)

So there are many movies that I really enjoy, but I am going with the first 3 which come to mind!

1.  Sweet Home Alabama (2002)

This movie is great.  First, it is so small town Southern, which is my favorite theme of a movie.  It has comedy & romance, another favorite theme of a movie for me!  Reese Witherspoon is one of my favorite actresses. It has great lines in it and it would take a while for this to get old to me.  I think I could watch it many times, then just have it on "repeat play" while I was busy trying to send signals for help!!

2. Parental Guidance (2012)
This is another great movie that takes place in Atlanta.  I have always said this movie appeals to everyone.....kids, teenagers, parents, and grandparents.  It is full of comedy and some fun music & scenes too!  I have seen this movie many times and cry every single time.

3.  The Proposal (2009)

This movie just makes me laugh.  It also is a great mixture of comedy and romance.  Sandra Bullock is another one of my favorite actresses.  This movie takes place in a small town in Canada.

Enjoy your Wednesday!

Stranded ~ Footwear

This months feature from my stranded island edition is footwear.  So today I will highlight some of my favorite footwear.

1. My first go to pair would be my Skechers Go Walks.  I have the Skechers Go Walk 3 and they are the most comfortable shoe to wear while walking all day or even just around the house or to run errands.  These have been worth every penny.

 2. I would also have my UGG Cardi Boots.  I looked at these boots online for over a year and finally bought a pair on sale last December when I was in the USA.  They are so comfortable and stylish at the same time.  It is my first pair of UGG, but I've always heard just how comfortable they are and now I have experienced this personally!

Here I am wearing the boots yesterday.

They can also be folded down to be worn as booties.  It feels like you are wearing a comfortable pair of slippers!

3. My third choice, since I am on an island, would be my pair of Merrells.  I left my pair in the states this summer, but they are my go to shoe for outdoors/water activities. I like they are easy to put on, comfortable, and have a closed toe.
(This isn't a picture of my pair, but it is very similiar)

The bottom line is, you can wear stylish, yet comfortable shoes whever you are, and hopefully if we find ourselves on an island, we are there by choice staying at an all-inclusive resort :)!

Stranded ~ Famous People Edition

In addition to this post, I have a post today at our Bogota Bridges blog.

Here is another installment of Stranded......Famous People.

My top 3 choices for celebrities if I were to be stranded on a deserted island.....

Huey Lewis........He can sit around and sing for background music

And play the harmonica :)

Jimmy Fallon/Kimmel.........Whichever one is available, I would take for laughs.

Reese Witherspoon......I would need a good Southern friend. And hopefully we could figure out how to cook some meals on the island and make sweet tea!

An alternative would be the captain of a cruise ship who can lead me to luxury!

Stranded!

Today I am participating in a new blog series called Stranded. Today's topic is:

"If you were Stranded on a deserted island and could only take three things, what would they be?"

Well, first let me say, if I were ever on Survivor, I have often joked I would be the first one voted off the island because I would be so miserable!  Isabella told me a few weeks ago that I might stay longer because I wouldn't be a threat, ha!  Also, Avery would be in his element on a deserted island if he had his kit.  I think he would just want someone to be around with him :).  There are so many things I can think of to take with me, (I mean, have you seen me pack when I go to the states knowing there is a Wal-Mart there??), but here are the top 3 that came to mind:

First, would be foundation.  I like a little color on my face and this foundation has primer, concealer, but the best part....broad spectrum sunscreen!

Keeping it real....toilet paper please.

And third, I would want a toothbrush.  Hopefully, Avery has some toothpaste in his kit and I could make it a day on a stranded island.  Also, hopefulluy he has materials to build a bridge or airplane so I can escape back to the mainland!

Today is a half-day for the girls, so it is a happy Wednesday around here!
