Friday Favorites

Celebrating 18 years of marriage with Avery

Tuesday, we had lunch with our friends Jorge & Ginny Enciso.  I didn't take any photos, but it was good to spend time with them again.  It had been too long.

I went on a field trip with Brook's class to a place called Jaime Duque. I will share more photos later on this day, but it was fun for both of us! (and yes that is a Colombian version of the Taj Mahal behind us :))

I participated in a Bachelorette draft with my Bachelor/Bachelorette friends, Gardner and Rachel. Here we are from a previous show watching together.

This appeared on my phone Thursday night.  Friday morning is a late day so I had my alarm set for 6:15, but was still awake by 5:30!! There are lots of little things to be done today, but keep in mind, I write down almost every little thing on my phone as reminders!!

We leave our apartment at 4am tomorrow morning for our journey to the USA and camp tomorrow night.  Can't wait.

Thursday Randomness

I am beginning this day with our countdown....
days to go!!

Now on to the randomness :)
This is a note I received at home this week from the school.  I've guessed you noticed it is all in Spanish.

Last week, for the first time in 3 years, I walked on a treadmill.

And for the first time in 3 years, I saw traditional bagels here! The girls were happy to have them.

Another beautiful Bogota sunset

Last Friday I bought Cinnabon from our local mall to have for breakfast Saturday morning.

Show and Tell Tuesday ~ Favorite Vacations

Today's show and tell is favorite vacations.  Coming from a girl who loves to travel and always needs to be planning the next trip, whether it is a week away or 6 months away, this post could go long! Ha!
To those who know me, you know New York City is one of my favorite cities.  Here are a few of my favorite NYC highlights:
The girls at the 9/11 site
Times Square with my girls ~ perfection
Yankee Stadium with Nicole
What a beautiful sight!
Freedom Tower overlooking the city
"Times Square Starts Here"
Rockefeller Plaza in the fall
Central Park
Bucket list ~ Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge
We also love Disney trips:

Brook's first sight of Cinderella's castle
And cruises:
On a port stop in Halifax, Nova Scotia
The girls first cruise in 2010
Port stop in Baja, Mexico
"Free" food!
Just thinking back to the last few years, we treasured our time as a family spent in Europe January 2014.
Brussels, Belgium
Ghent, Belgium
Brugge, Belgium
Brugge, Belgium
Amsterdam
Tower Bridge, London
Buckingham Palace, London
Big Ben, London
Arc de Triomphe, Paris
Paris, France
During our time in Colombia, our favorite trip was Cartagena:

Some of our other random favorites:
Blowing Rock/Boone, NC are some of my favorite small towns in the USA.
We loved family camping in our camper when the girls were younger.
We have also enjoyed our vacations to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge, TN area.
Another favorite was our first visit to Sea World last fall:
One of our first real family vacations (just the 4 of us going somewhere other than to visit or with other family) was to Land Between the Lakes, Kentucky where we camped and enjoyed the area.

We have also enjoyed our trips to the beach:
Destin, Florida
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
But there is no place like home:

I know it looks like I just shared every vacation picture in history, but these are mostly from the last few years and I really did try to be selective!  I warned you this was going to be long ;)

(Last year, I also did a favorite vacation post, which includes many of the things I wrote about today).
