Show & Tell Tuesday ~ What's On Your Phone

I have actually missed some of the last Show & Tell Tuesday posts, but today I am participating and we are talking about What's on your phone ~ Your most helpful/best apps.

So first, I have all the normals that I use every day:

  • Mail
  • Calendar
  • Maps
  • Weather
  • Safari
  • Notes
  • Pinterest (I check this for recipes)
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • Snapchat
  • Photos
  • Netflix (I only use this occasionally on my phone)
  • Message & What's App (I use this to text with friends in Bogota)
  • Clock
  • Calculator
Whoo, that's a lot of normals!

Then I have my shopping apps:

Walmart app:  I often use this even when I'm in another store.  For instance, when I am grocery shopping in Kroger, I will sometimes type in the item in my Walmart app to see if it is cheaper there.

Kroger app:  When I am in Kroger, I will use this app for additional coupons on my order.

Amazon app: I often use this to shop prices on things as well.  One example was one day I was looking for something in WalMart & couldn't find it, so I pulled up the Amazon app & actually ordered the product from Amazon while I was standing in Walmart.  2 days later the product arrived at my door with free shipping with my Prime membership!!

Domino's app:  I order our pizzas on this app.  It remembers our past orders, I accumulate points, and it tracks our pizza once we order one.  Once, I ordered pizza as we left church and it was delivered a few minutes after we arrived home :).

I also have a few other restaurant and shopping apps I use for coupons:
  • Michaels
  • Hobby Lobby
  • Smoothie King
  • Target & Cartwheel

A few other apps I use frequently:

Every Dollar app:  This is a newer one for me.  It is basically an online budgeting app.

You record your purchases to try to stay on budget and not overspend. This is my first month using it and I realize how much I under estimate our grocery budget.
Bank of America app:  I use this app to deposit checks and check our bank balance.

Nest app:  Nest is our thermostat.  I can control the temperature of our house while I'm away or even from my bed :)

First 5 app: This is a daily devotion I read.

I have several games on my phone:
  • Sudoku
  • Solitare
  • Magic Puzzles

Magic Puzzles app:  I have always liked doing puzzles and now I do one a day ( or most days!).  You can download a monthly one a day puzzle to complete.

So I have more random things on my phone I use, but these are the highlights.  Once Isabella begins driving alone, my new favorite will be a tracking app of where she is :).

Hope I learn of a few more fun apps after reading others entries on this topic!

Show and Tell Tuesday ~ Travelogues

Before I get into today's show and tell theme, here is a show and tell for you:

19 years ago today
19 years later
Today's theme is Travelogues:  the best and worst of trips.

Thankfully, I have had very few bad trips and lots of good trips in my lifetime!  I am going to highlight two of many very good trips.

Orlando, November 2015
We started the trip by going to Sea World and the girls loved seeing dolphins for the first time.

Then we headed to the Disney parks for several days.

After a few days at Disney, we went on a short, 3 day cruise.

Brook (& Avery) was able to swim with the dolphins, even though it was a stormy day :(.

We took this trip when we were still living in Bogota and it was so refreshing for us, we all had fun, and had saved up for the trip and paid for most of it in advance, so that was a bonus too!

Europe, January 2014

So this was actually a month of training for us, but we are thankful for the travel we were able to experience on our own along the way.
This picture is a little dark, but I like this picture of the girls and I on a cute street in Brussels, Belgium.

The plaza in Brussels

Belgium is a beautiful country.

Belgian waffles are the best.
I remember taking this night to myself and taking the train from where we stayed into Brussels.

Avery and the girls in Amsterdam.

Paris

The girls in front of Buckingham Palace

There are so many other wonderful trips, but these two are the ones that immediately came to mind.
Looking forward to more fun travels in the future!

Show and Tell Tuesday ~ Memory Lane Edition

Today's Show and Tell Tuesday theme is memory lane:  favorite childhood shows, movies, toys, etc.

I am a child of the 70's, teen of the 80's.  I am sure my memory has missed something, but here are some highlights of that time for me.

Movies
These next 2 are from the 80's but I loved them.
This movie was so funny to me.  I saw it a few years ago though and it would have been a PG-13 movie now.
I was a fan of Michael J. Fox from his tv show (see below), and this movie had the best theme song and cameo appearance both by who else but Huey Lewis.
My favorite movie from the 70's was Rocky.  I saw the original one last year while in Bogota and it did not disappoint.  It is still a great movie.

Toys
They sell an updated version of these now.

I remember loving this tree house.

Brook would like this now!
Sesame Street classic
I think I had Holly Hobbie wallpaper and a lunchbox at one time too.
I remember I was so excited to get one of these at Christmas.
Hours of fun!

Television
I loved Family Ties, which stars Michael J. Fox.  This was from the 80's.
Friday nights in the 70's was the Donny & Marie show.

We also had Donny & Marie lunch boxes.
Saturday nights were for watching The Love Boat.
And if we stayed up an extra hour, we would watch Fantasy Island.

My after school tv choice was The Brady Bunch, which my girls still watch from time to time.

Music

I basically listened to Elvis, the Osmonds, Shawn Cassidy, and top 40 radio in the 70's.  I continued listening to top 40 radio in the 80's and some of my favorites were Rick Springfield, Hall & Oates, and of course, Huey Lewis and the News.
Happy Tuesday!

Friday Favorites ~ February 20, 2026

Woo hoo!  Happy Friday friends! A favorite of mine from last week was spending a morning last weekend with my sister. We went to a bakery a...
