Hello Monday ~ February 9, 2026

Well, my Hello Monday is now a Hello Tuesday!  Better late than never, but here is a re-cap of my weekend.  Hope you all have a great day and thanks for reading!

After visiting my daughter, I proceeded to drive to North Carolina for the weekend.  I saw some dustings of snow on the mountains.  It was a pretty drive and thankfully, the roads were clear.

The first stop was meeting up with one of my best friends who drove over from Charlotte.  We started with dinner...appetizer was these macaroni and cheese balls!  Oh my!
That was followed with a burger topped with cheese, bacon and onions on lettuce with a side of grilled veggies.
We also enjoyed their specialty cocktail drink.
After a full and delicious meal, we walked on the treadmill at the hotel for an hour and it was good to catch up while walking!

The next morning, we went to Biscuit Head, a great place to eat breakfast in Asheville. I had fruit, scrambled eggs, maple bacon and of course tried the biscuit.
We did a little shopping.
Of course, found frozen yogurt!

We picked up a friend from the airport and went back to the same burger place.  I had more burgers last week than I think I had all year in 2025!  This time, I got the burger with gouda on lettuce with a side of onion rings.
Downtown Waynesville, NC is a darling place!
This was the AirBNB where I stayed the next 2 nights.
Enchiladas were a delicious dinner cooked at the cabin.
It was great to catch up with this old friend we've known for the last 20 years.
I had a pretty drive home.  Western NC is one my favorite areas of the country.
And being at a Buc-ees before 11am is wonderful so I can enjoy an egg brisket taco.  So good.

It was great to spend time with friends over the weekend!
Happy Tuesday!

Hello Monday ~ December 8, 2025

Happy Monday!

Another weekend to recap....here we go!

I left early Friday morning for a road trip to Texas! Along the way, I saw some beautiful scenery, a quick trip to Buc-ees and I did something I haven't done on a road trip before....I got an oil change and then went through the car wash!  I needed an oil change but didn't have time before I left town.  I wanted to drive with the assurance my car was in good shape and then wanted to clean my car since I would be driving some guests on Saturday.
First stop after arriving in the Dallas area, eat Brisket!
After eating this late lunch/early dinner, I walked around Northpark Mall to get some exercise and look at the Christmas decorations.
After the mall, I drove to look at homes. Stay tuned to another post soon....I will do another entire post on house pictures.  I feel like it would be too much for this one post.  They were amazing!

The main goal of this quick 24 hours in Dallas was to see my sweet friends who I met when I lived in Colombia.  They now live in Australia and had a connection in Dallas Saturday.  Once they got through customs and I had to return them back to DFW, we only had 4 hours together.  However, it was worth every bit of my 7 hour drive there to see them!  We had not seen each other in almost 6 years. I have always referred to Edwin as my Colombia son and I would consider his precious wife, Laura, as my Colombian daughter-in-law.
I was super excited to see them come through these doors!
We facetimed my girls!
Guess where I took them?  To eat brisket :)
So proud of them for getting their Australian passports!  Now they are dual citizens!
The restaurant had a cool vibe and they had signs all over saying they do not have wifi, so please don't use your phones.  I only used mine for a few photos.  I was in the moment with our visit.
They look pretty amazing after a 15 hour flight from Australia to Dallas!  (They still had 2 more flights after this one to arrive at their final destination).
After lunch, we went to the Texas Gaylord hotel to walk and look at the Christmas lights.
I love them so much and my heart was so full!  I dropped them back off at DFW and started my drive home.  I had some leftover brisket from lunch I warmed up that evening.
I got a hotel room outside of Little Rock and left early Sunday morning to drive back to Memphis and made it in time for church.

It was such a great weekend and I am so happy I made the drive to see them!
Come back on Thursday to see some amazing houses I saw Friday night!
Tomorrow I will be sharing my Christmas decor.

How was your weekend?

Talking About it Tuesday ~ Charleston/October 14, 2025

Good morning!  I am glad to be blogging again and get into some normal routines after a busy few weeks. Thanks for your patience with me in blogging/commenting/responding.

Today I am sharing some more pictures from my weekend.  Since I was in Savannah, we took a day trip to Charleston, SC Saturday, which is just 2 hours away.  Charleston had some major flooding Friday which we weren't aware of until we arrived.  We did go prepared for rain and it indeed did rain most of the day.  We had our umbrellas and rain jackets and did some exploring anyway! Below are lots of pictures!

This was the Brandy Melville store on the main shopping street.  It was crazy busy with a line wrapped around the store.  It felt like Black Friday in NYC.
Crab cakes for lunch!
This is the home Darius Rucker has purchased and is renovating.  Yes, I googled his address in Charleston! This was one of my easier searches, ha!
We walked through this fancy hotel and saw a lady doing a photo shoot in the restaurant.
Shopping!
We were craving some key lime pie and found this Key Lime Pie shop!
It finally stopped raining late afternoon for us to take some pictures on Rainbow Row, the famous stretch of rainbow row houses.
On our drive home, we stopped at this cute road side stand and bought some homemade jam.
I purchased these key lime pecans from the market earlier that day.  I set them on their mantle to also take a picture of all their fun lego flower arrangements they have.

We watched a movie Saturday night when we returned to Savannah and went to bed early.
Sunday morning, I met up with a friend of mine who lives in Savannah at this fun bakery/restaurant while Brook did school work at a coffee shop.
This is the apple cider donut and cinnamon bun.
Sunday afternoon, Brook and I took a walk down one of the prettiest streets in Savannah. It truly is one of the prettiest cities I have visited!
There were lots of Halloween decorations.
We took a tour of one of the SCAD buildings that told the story of how SCAD began.
After the tour, we had lunch of chips, guacamole, and chicken tacos, but mine was served on lettuce.

After lunch, I drove 6 hours to stay in a hotel, then drove the rest of the way home on Monday morning.  I drove 18 hours to spend 48 hours total with Brook, but I would do it again. It was so worth it and I loved seeing her.

Have a great day!
