Talking About it Tuesdays ~ Weekend trip Part 2/September 16, 2025

Hey there.  If you read yesterday, I did a recap on a weekend trip I took.  Today is part 2 of that recap!

Sunday, I started my day with a breakfast of champions, a cinnamon roll, coke zero and a tall glass of water.  It was still vacation :).
As I left NC, I drove to see a few more sights.

As I drove through NC and SC into Georgia, I bought myself a bag of autumn mix, my favorite fall treat.  This is my one bag to indulge in for the season! It helped as I entered into some Atlanta traffic.

On another somewhat change of plans, I bought a last minute $15 ticket to a Braves game.  I am a baseball fan and it had been a while since I had been to a MLB game.  I was proud of myself for taking myself on a day date with myself to do something I enjoy.  It was a big deal for me to do something like this alone as a single person. The Atlanta Braves played the Houston Astros and won.
I had a great view with a front row of the section I was seated.
It is so fun to see home runs hit in such a big stadium!
For lunch, I got the brisket nachos in a souvenir hat.  Y'all know I do love to eat some brisket!

After the game, I drove a few more hours and enjoyed a night in a hotel before driving home yesterday.  I stopped at Buc-ees too, because I rarely pass those up if I see a location. I also stopped by for breakfast Monday morning and had my favorite, yep, the brisket egg taco!

I made it home, unpacked and then met Jenn for dinner and yogurt.  We were both dressed in all black! I bought these new blue butterfly earrings on my vacation.

Hope it is a great day for you!

Cincinnati ~ July 2022

It is Friday!  And it is hot.  I don't mind the heat from time to time, but the consistency of heat makes one stay indoors as much as possible.  However, I did get some time outside on a quick trip to Cincinnati this past week.  It had been 30 years probably since I had been there.  I liked it then and still find it to be a nice town.

There were so many murals around town.

Went to see the Reds play the Mets....the Reds lost, but it was good to be back at a MLB game

The next day started with a delicious breakfast from a place called Taste of Belgium.  I love a Belgium waffle....and fries too, but I went with the waffle and omelet.

After breakfast, next stop was the Creation Museum, which was really well done.
This picture below explains how they think the Earth is approximately 6000 years old.

The museum was followed up with Cincinnati chili.

The next day was a visit to the Ark Encounter.  It is an actual size replica of Noah's Ark that you can walk through and see how the animals and Noah and his family lived.  It was also well done and the construction aspect of it is quite impressive.

On the way home, this was a unique restaurant in Lexington where we had lunch.

I hope you have had a good week and stay cool this weekend!

Friday Favorites ~ July 23, 2021

I am always so glad for the weekend.  Today I am sharing favorites from the last 2 weeks.

I was gifted a starter box from Fab Fit Fun.  With this, you only receive 4 small gifts.  Honestly, I wasn't super impressed, but am wondering if this gets better with the regular boxes.  Has anyone tried this beyond the starter box?
We have started watching the new season of Virgin River.  I have mixed thoughts going so far, but overall, I do really like this show.
I had a sweet day date with this young lady from church this week.  I always love getting a hug from her at church & it was fun to have some one-on-one time.
I ordered just two items from the Nordstrom sale this year.  The first thing arrived this week...my Stila eyeliner.  This is my strongest loyalty when it comes to make-up & I stock up every year at this sale.  If you need an eyeliner, this is my favorite.  It is a liquid eyeliner, but goes on smooth, doesn't smudge and stays all day.  Side note, my other item is a pair of jeans that I am waiting to arrive.
This is a favorite from last week, but we hosted a MLB All-Star father/son party with some guys from our church.  I always love a reason to decorate.
We had a great array of snacks and filled this platter with bratwurst and hot dogs.
It was fun having my oldest home for a few days too!

Have a great weekend!

Fly Away Day Trip to the Game

Happy Friday!  Oh I am sad I don't have another 3 day weekend, but this is how we spent our extra day this week and is definitely my Friday Favorite.........

Avery and I had a day trip to see the Atlanta Braves and Boston Red Sox play Monday.
We were both off work for Labor Day and headed to the airport that morning.

We had the VIP treatment with the Delta 360 club and the Sun Trust Club.

We traveled with some co-workers.

We had pretty close seats....like the 2nd row!  Avery enjoyed ballpark hot dogs.

I enjoyed some lobster mac-n-cheese.  We had unlimited food and drinks.  I am talking for food we had crab meat, lobster, tenderloin....and there was typical ball park food as well to enjoy in the clubs.

Mookie Betts....one of the top players in Major League Baseball right now on the team with the best record.  I am a Yankees fan, but I am not going to lie, it was fun watching the Red Sox.  They are so good this year!

I was served this delicious frozen lemonade smoothie, which was good for a hot day.

So was ice cream delivered to us on a silver tray!

Atlanta Braves players...We were this close to them.  This is without a zoom!

And we were so close to the Boston Red Sox dugout as well!  I was so intrigued and found myself staring over there most of the game.

Inside the club, we saw Golden Glove awards and a baseball signed by Hank Aaron.

It was a great day at the ball park!

There was a beautiful rendition of God Bless America sung during the 7th inning stretch and I was able to meet him right after that.

We left the game at that time to head back to the airport for our flight home.

Even on an airplane, I found some episodes of The Office to watch!

It was a whirlwhind of a day.....12 hours door to door with 2 flights and a ball game, but it was fun!

Friday Favorites ~ February 20, 2026

Woo hoo!  Happy Friday friends! A favorite of mine from last week was spending a morning last weekend with my sister. We went to a bakery a...
