Good morning friends! Life kept me busy the end of last week, so I missed blogging for a few days. I hope you all had a good weekend! I am recording today a little recap of last week and the weekend.
I spend a little time each week with my mom while my dad is teaching a course at the medical school. I took this picture last week when I was there which sums up my dad so accurately: his bible and an anatomy book! The only thing missing from this is a book on travel, which is also a passion of his. My father has been an anatomy professor for his career and still teaches classes from time to time like he is doing this fall.
Tuesday morning I waited online in a que to to score Harry Styles tickets.
My daughter started her full time job last week so I had a celebratory dinner to celebrate her, Wade's birthday and scoring Harry Styles tickets! I ordered the brisket from a local restaurant bringing Texas brisket to Tennessee. I served it with roasted veggies, roasted potatoes, sourdough and key lime pie for dessert.
Wednesday night, I started our fall bible study with some ladies from my church. We are studying the book of Habakkuk. This is all about how do we praise the Lord even when life is hard? What does it mean to trust God when life doesn't go as planned? This is a short book to read to remind us of God's faithfulness in confusing, hard times.
Thursday night I attended a Mahjong night with work. It is held at a beautiful home in town. Here are just a few snapshots:
I worked 12 hours this day, so therefore, there was no Friday blog. I was completely exhausted. I worked from home Friday and spent the day at home and it was glorious. I did leave for a bit to join Jenn for dinner then we came back here to watch a movie.
Saturday, I walked outside and then spent the day inside watching some football and doing random things. I went to Jenn's that evening for about an hour for a short visit with her and friends. Then I came home to watch the Ole Miss/LSU football game. It was the biggest rival game of the weekend. Go Rebels! So glad they won!
Sunday was low key and here we are at another Monday.
Have a great start to your week!

Congrats to Brook and her full time job! The celebratory meal sounds really good. How fun to meet up with Jen a couple of times, too. We watched some football as well over the weekend- not the rivalry game that you mentioned but rather a rivalry in Ohio :).
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a really delicious celebratory dinner. What a beautiful home.
ReplyDeleteThat house looks gorgeous! I love the bathroom wallpaper especially. I enjoy playing Mah Jong and we have a pretty large neighborhood group now which is a lot of fun. Congratulations to your daughter and I hope she loves her new job! Have a great week! TN fans were happy to see Ole Miss win too : )
ReplyDeleteThat house in midtown is gorgeous! I loved all of those pictures. Is that tile on the ceiling? I'm so glad we got to spend the weekend together again, even if it wasn't for long periods of time. We should find Bridesmaids 2 for next weekend! I love you, dear friend.
ReplyDeleteSo much to comment on! What a nice week! The celebration dinner sounds so nice. I noticed Fresh Market has brisket - at least on Saturdays so I might try it.
ReplyDeleteThat mahj house is so colorful and pretty!
That house is insanely gorgeous! I think your weekend sounds perfect- the right balance of friend and alone time :)
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like a busy week. Yea for the HS tickets and also B's job. I am so amazed that your dad is still teaching. That's impressive! The Mahjong house is so beautiful. We watched the LSU game. Of course, Michael was cheering for LSU, but I think he still thought it was a good game even though they lost. The picture of the coach kneeling (in defeat) on the sideline is priceless.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that your dad is still teaching.
ReplyDeleteYay to getting the Harry Styles tickets, I do like him. I remember him when he was only young and in One Direction. I saw them in concert twice with my eldest. hehehe Congrats to your daughter with the full time job!
Oh wow! The house where you played Mahjong is just gorgeous!
If I was going to picture a house where there would be a group of people play mahjong, I don't think I would have even pictured one more perfect than that one lol. I don't know why- it just seemed to fit the theme so well! But goodness that's gorgeous! My decor is so minimal, I can't even imagine something so fun! But I LOVE it! And good job getting those tickets, that queue was insane! My oldest daughter was a huge one direction fan back in her teenage years, I still love their older songs it reminds me of a simpler time lol! I hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all the bright colors in that house! Every time I see a house like that, I think that I would love to have that in my home, but I worry it wouldn't look good if I did it!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a nice house!
