Brook hits double digits

Tomorrow, October 18, my baby girl turns 10 years old.  How did this happen?  Where did the time go? Oh my goodness.  Here are some photos dedicated to her.  It just may be photo overload.  No apologies. And for the record, most of these photos were taken when she was 3 or 4.  I just loved those short curls :).

Randomness

Every so often, I feel like this is my blog post title: Randomness.

Today, randomness is what I have to share.  Later I will share about our Dominican Republic trip (or as they say in Spanish, Republica Dominicana).  It was wonderful, beautiful, & very hot & humid!! I have lots of pictures, so it will take some downtime to organize, which I haven't done yet.

Brook trying out her new sunglasses to use on our trip.

Brook playing in my glasses.

One night, Brook & I watched video after video on you tube of rides from Disney World.  It was a fun little escape!

It was a big day around here when we went to the store with imported goods & found Cheerios (or another brand like Cheerios actually)!  This is the first time we've seen these & we paid good money for it too, but the girls were so excited.  Cereal has been a hard grocery find around here.  They do have cereal, but none of the kinds we bought in the USA.

It was fun to watch Ole Miss play on tv recently.  I was just trying to find my sister on tv the whole time basically.

What a big win for Ole Miss against Alabama!

And I thought this picture represented us well with Ole Miss on the tv & University of Memphis listed at the bottom of the screen.  We do get ESPN, although it is all in Spanish.

We went to the mall a few weeks ago to listen to a symphony play.

We found a truck in the nearby park who would let you type in your own name on a coke bottle.

The names you see here in the stores on coke bottles are all Spanish names, so this was a fun treat for us.

Off to Retreat!

Every 4 years, Mission to the World hosts area retreats for different regions of the world where they have missionaries.  The Latin America retreat is this week & we are sooo excited!

This morning, we head to the airport & fly (on an airline we've never used before) to the Dominican Republic.

And this will be our home away from home for the week:

Let's hope these pictures are accurate of where we are staying :)

The girls have packing Thursday night. We are all ready, wishing we had even gone in a day early!  I will blog again next week when I return home.  Please pray for smooth travels for us as we go to a new location.  Pray for good health for us this week while we are away.  I know we will enjoy the people & not speaking spanish for a week (or as little as possible because the DR is still a spanish speaking country).  Enjoy your Monday!
