Delta Fair 2017

It's fair season & I've always liked the fair.  I have memories of having "Fair Day", where we would  dismiss from school early and have a half day of school.  I remember the Mid-South Fair where the fair was connected to the local amusement park, Libertyland, so we had double rides!  There were also lots of buildings to go in and animals to see.  I have many memories of going to the fair, however, my most memorable would have to be Avery and I went to the Mid South Fair the night we met, almost 23 years ago.

I haven't been to a fair in years, and this year, we went to the Delta Fair.  I still like the fair, but was once again reminded how expensive everything is!!  The fair has some rides, but it seemed to be mostly food stands.  Here are some photos from our time there last week:

I didn't eat here, but just the booth itself screams America.

They had a small circus and a guy juggling flames.

These trapeze artists are always so impressive!

Avery, Isabella and Brook played a Wipe Out Challenge game.  Here, all 3 of them were on the ground, wiped out!

Here we are with our funnel cake and deep fried Oreos!

We saw this animal and a few others....

Including monkeys racing on dogs!

Weekend Wrap Up

In memory of 9/11........
I watched the movie 13 Hours this weekend.  I also am thinking about this event which happened 5 years ago today.

Here is a recap on my weekend....

After being in our home 7 months, we finally got a new sofa!!  It was delivered Friday and we really like it so far.

Avery and the girls went camping, so I had the weekend to myself!  I started by going to Lowe's to buy paint, then bought some Diet Coke, Autumn Mix, and Bubble Gum!  Wild Friday nights over here!!

I played me some 80's music while I painted, and these guys came on to entertain me!

Saturday morning, I went to a yard sale & bought a sled and a tennis racket.

I then went to the Germantown Festival, which is a yearly event that I haven't been to in years, but I enjoyed it.

I always have to take a picture when I see Huey come on the radio!  Don't worry....my subscription to XM radio ends in a few weeks so I won't post these forever!

As I was pumping gas, I was thankful there wasn't a long line and gas was available.  Praying for all those involved in the storms!

Saturday evening, we celebrated this pretty girl's 21st birthday! This is my niece, Anna.

Dinner with my sister and all her crew

Which includes 2 of my absolute favorites....this cute great niece of mine

And her big brother....always a joy to see them!

My weekend ended with some time on the couch and my pumpkin candle burning.

And if you are wondering about the paint projects I did this weekend, here are a few photos of that too.  Happy Monday!

Friday Favorites

I always like to see a Friday come again.  This week, I have been lazy in blogging, but we are all busy and that's one less blog/email for you! But here is a quick recap of the week's highlights:

Fall Decorations
This week I brought out some fall decorations I had & also purchased a few more things.  These 2 things are definitely my favorites!  I had been wanting a fall pillow and doormat, very simple accessories.  With a coupon I had and apparently some other discount I was given, I bought this pillow and mat from Kohls for $5!  Yes, $5 total!  I was so excited because on sale, they cost $30 together and I purchased it for $5.  A good deal is definitely my favorite.

Time with Friends
Sunday evening, I was able to see these 2 friends of mine who were both born and raised in Bogota as missionary kids.  Having a little bit of time in Memphis with them was nice and I am thankful for their encouragement to me during my experience.

Time with Family
We had our first Labor Day back in the USA since 2013.  We don't have an outside grill, but I think Avery enjoyed this even better...making a homemade fire and grill in our back yard!  We grilled some bratwurst for Labor Day lunch (even though the girls don't eat it:() & Avery went hunting for the afternoon, so we all had a good day.

With the nice temperatures, we took a walk to our neighborhood lake.

The girls and I had lunch at Chick-Fil-A & Isabella got practice parking there at lunch time which is a real test of parking skills!

The Fair
Our family went to the local fair & I'll post more on that next week.

Have a great weekend!

Friday Favorites

Happy September!!

Campbell's legal adoption & party to celebrate! This was definitely a favorite for this event and was a fun night with family.

While we are on the subject of babies, the girls and I were honored to babysit for this cute little 4 week old girl last weekend.

Look at that!  We have 2 cars parked in our garage!!  Avery has worked hard organizing his toys :).

Fall shopping makes me happy!

My neighborhood & just getting a neighborhood newsletter is one of my favorite things!

The girls & I watched a tribute to Diana on the 20th anniversary of her death.  Isabella and I have watched a few of these now, & I remember staying up through the night when she died watching the events and then her funeral.

It's September and it's not hot, so I am super thankful for that & always glad for a weekend!
