Friday Favorites ~ January 2018

Welcome to the first Friday Favorites of 2018!
There is a new logo for the link-up.
ONE

Isabella spent last week snow skiing in Colorado with the senior high group from our church.  We are thankful she had such a fun experience. Although funny fact, it was colder in Memphis than it was in Colorado!!
In case you are wondering, Isabella is represented by Bruno Mars, ha!!
While she was gone, Brook and I went to the mall one day for some quick shopping.  It was fun to still see their Christmas decorations, which were so pretty with lights.
This is basically how we have felt all week, ha!
TWO

We had the Enciso family stay with us for a few nights and another family friend came over so we all posed for a group photo.

THREE

This collage below is of my top 9 photos from Instagram in 2017.

FOUR

We had a low key New Years celebration, which for me, included playing with filters.

We went to a friends house and saw Wilder, then we had to pick up Isabella from the airport. Afterwards, we went to Ashley's and rang in the new year there.
New Years Day was spent at home.
We had ham, cornbread, black eyed peas, and green beans.

FIVE

I painted our guest bathroom finally.  This is a project I have been wanting to do for a while. We think it looks so much better. Below are before and after photos:

I also enjoyed cleaning up spaces and adding some photos to our mantle.  Our mantle was installed during the holidays, so it is the first time to have it post Christmas decorations.  I have photos from some of our favorite travels displayed.
Our pictures include family photos from Paris, London, Brussels, Machu Picchu, and of course, Bogota.

SIX

My last favorite thing to share is that this precious girl turns 1 year old today! We will celebrate her this weekend.

Happy Weekend to all

Cinnamon Rolls

Christmas Day, I made these cinnamon rolls by Pioneer Woman.  I have always wanted to try these and feel like these are one of her most popular recipes.  It makes up a lot of rolls, but they are delicious.  I froze some and will let you know later how they taste.

Christmas Day ~ 2017

I realize it is the third day of January, but I still have some Christmas photos to share, so here goes Christmas morning......

Christmas morning came and I had fun playing with some Snapchat filters, ha, ha!

This is Brook's gifts.

This is Isabella's gifts.

We went to my parents house for brunch.

It was the first time in 22 years that my brother had been with us on Christmas Day.
This picture is of me and my siblings, 44 years later.
We gave my dad the piano music to LaLa Land and he played some for us that morning.

That evening, I made cinnamon rolls and we watched our movie.
I had bought these cups to use for the weekend and was really pleased with them.  They said Merry Christmas on one side and had a gift tag on the other side where you could write your name.  We also had a little Christmas pasta that night too.

Here is the movie I tradition I always reference, The Nativity Story. Once again, I enjoyed thinking about more things about this miraculous story.

Later Christmas Day night, Isabella and I watched one of our favorite shows Christmas special, When Calls The Heart.  It was such a good episode!

It was a great Christmas!

Christmas Eve Festivities

Welcome to 2018!
Today I am recapping our Christmas Eve.

It started out with some baking of festive snacks.
Eden spent the night before with us, so these cousins enjoyed their time together.
This was our drink station for the day.  I also added water and tea to the mix.

I bought this roaster to use for cooking our turkey, and it worked out great and was nice to have my oven clear for other things.

Dining room table

Then it was time for family to arrive, and I quickly got pictures of the babies.  I am loving this picture!

Campbell and his daddy

Outside on our porch, which was so cold, we had tables set up there.  I actually wrapped the two end tables with Christmas wrapping paper as a tablecloth.

Monogram shirt :)

Family

This is a sweet picture of Campbell looking up at my brother.

The babies got blocks and loved playing with them.

This girl also enjoyed trying to climb in the box!

It was a fun day with family.  We went to a Christmas Eve service that evening, then we watched a few Christmas classic tv shows.  We loved hosting and hope to do it again.
