This and That

Hello Monday!!

Here is just a recap of this and that in life lately.
Last week was my big sister's birthday.  I think she had a good one since she was on a cruise!!

Brook likes to draw and did this last week of Isabella while we were watching a movie.  She's a pretty good artist! Notice even the remote control on the blanket :)

5 years ago this week we were approved to be missionaries in Colombia!

Since it was spring break week, but their parents were working, the girls spent a night with my parents and also did some babysitting for Campbell and Crawford.

While the girls were having fun, we were able to have a fun dinner night out with a friend. Our weekend was pretty simple, but good and now we are ready to face Monday and have another Monday done!

This and That

The last few days I've let blogging take the low road as I've been busy with other things at home.  So here are some random things from last week and our weekend.

First, when the girls entertain themselves on Sundays without a phone, sometime you see this walk in your living room!!

Why not stop for yogurt on the way home for work???

This sweet photo memory made me smile...the pink hat, pink coat and pink nose, along with that smile made me miss 10 years ago. And the fact we had snow in March....crazy!

Saturday afternoon, we all went to play tennis.  Well, I just watched.  It made us reminisce of playing tennis days in Bogota with our teammates.

Sunday afternoon I spent some time with Brook and we did some shopping and Starbucks, and a trip to Lowes.

And here is yours truly for a photo I needed to update some information at work.

Can't wait for spring weather around the country.....all these noreasters in the North East are causing for busy, crazy days at work!

Happy Tuesday!

Weekend Wrap Up

Once again, we had a good weekend.  It was full of friends, a little housework, relaxing and church.

Friday night, we went to our good friend's house to have dinner in memory of her husband who died 5 years ago Friday. It is encouraging to walk in this room and see how far they have come from 5 years ago.

Sometimes you get a picture from a friend of your husband on their roof.  That is Avery standing on the roof!

Saturday, we went to a wedding at our church.

We were able to meet our resource representative from MTW who helped us our last year in Bogota. We had spoken and emailed many times, but it was our first time to meet face to face.  She was at the wedding and we have many mutual friends.

Brook and her friend, Catherine

The rest of the weekend highlights were watching Billy Graham's funeral, church, lunch on the back porch and attending a women's event for working women.

TBB March ~ Beauty Edition

Happy Monday!

It was a beautiful weekend of sunshine and I am off for a new week at work. Today, I am linking up with The Blended Blog and their monthly questions.
1.  Eyelash curler - I did use one in the past, but not so much anymore.  I use my Rodan and Fields Lash boost.  Message me if you're interested!  As a Rodan and Fields consultant and customer, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite products.

2. Favorite nail shade - I tend to gravitate to grays and whites. Most recently, I really liked OPI's Strong Coal-ition.

3. Favorite lipstick shade - My go to is Burt Bee's tinted lip balm in caramel color.

4. Blow dry or air dry your hair - I do a little of both on this. If I have time, I like to let my hair air dry, then use a hair dryer.  I do use this product to help with using heat on my hair.

5. Artificial nails - No.   I try to work with what I have!

6. Foundation - Yes!  I have used Cover Girl, but have a new one to use for summer.

7.  Hair up or down - 99% of the time, my hair is down.
\
8. Bar soap or body wash - Bath and Body Works body wash are my favorites.

9. Bath or shower - Shower.  One of these days, we want to remodel our bathtub and make it a shower.

10. Favorite body lotion - Bath and Body Works body lotion are my favorite too. I am not too picky on scents, but this is my current one.

11.  Do you wear perfume - Most of the time, no.  I have several samples I will use on weekends, but I don't wear it to work.

12. Do you shave your legs every day- Every time I shower, so mostly yes.

13. Favorite lip balm - Rose Salve.  I use this most every night.

14. How old were you when you first started wearing makeup - My guess is 13 or 14, but I honestly don't remember for sure.  I do remember around that age going to the Clinique counter to learn about skin care and received products to help take care of my face.

In honor of the Oscars......
Even though I only saw a little of the red carpet last night, here is a throwback of when we held a real Oscar when we were in Hollywood last fall!

Friday Favorites

It's time for Friday Favorites, but first, Happy March!

ONE ~ Work

My Monday started out with a trip to Chick Fil A on my way to work because I had a coupon for a free breakfast.  I actually saved it and ate it for lunch, but it was still good!
Completing my 6th week of work and I just got a phone this week, so today is day 3 of a normal work day taking phone calls with my headset. Pray for my knowledge to grow as each phone call is a little different as I deal with customers.  Also, public service announcement. be kind to someone you are calling on the phone!!!

TWO ~ Nuts

Two weeks ago, I told my sister I should just eat nuts one day and try to like them.  My sister proceeded to hand me granola with pecans in it and I ate it!  So, this week,I made granola with nuts and added some dark chocolate chips in it.  I took this for a snack to work one day. I have never liked nuts before in my  life, including peanut butter.

THREE ~ Sweet deeds

On the topic of snacks, Isabella brought me this cup of hot chocolate one night this week when I was too tired to get up and make my own cup.

Brook has been making my bed and helping me with dinner.  Both girls have helped with household chores.

I came home to these beautiful flowers this week from my husband.  I do love the white rose and any white flowers!

I didn't get a picture, but other sweet deeds this week were some meals.  Tuesday, a friend of mine from church left me dinner at my front door in a cooler.  It was such a thoughtful gesture and a sweet surprise for sure!  We also went to dinner with my parents one night this week.

FOUR ~ New Items

My mother-in-law gave me these slippers for Christmas.  Through a few back and forth exchanges/returns, I finally received the right size in the mail this week. These slippers are a favorite for sure!  They are so comfortable and you know I am an UGG fan, so I am glad to add these to my collection.

Also as a Christmas gift, I received a gift card to Hobby Lobby from my parents and used it this week on this ornamental frame on our mantle.  I had been looking at some things to put in this space and I am pleased with this decorative item, that still shows the beauty of our fireplace.

That's all for today.....yay for sunshine and Friday!

These pictures are sideways, but it shows pictures of Monday night's dinner.

Tuesday - breakfast food!
Wednesday - church
Thursday - out
Friday - dinner at a friend's house
Saturday - chicken fajitas

What I'm reminiscing about...................
Not too much at the moment :)

What I'm loving..................
It has been good to see the girls pick up more responsibility at home. As much as I miss those younger years, it is fun to see them grow up too.

What we've been up to..............
Work and homeschool life here!

What I'm dreading...............
Working when the girls have breaks from school

What I'm working on......................
Planning some activities for our summer vacation

What I'm excited about......................
The weekend!!!

What I'm watching/reading................
Honestly, not too much these days.

What I'm listening to...............
I am listening to podcast every morning on my way to work. Some of my favorites are United Church Bogota, RUF Vanderbilt and Greg Laurie.   There are a few others I listen to as well occasionally.

What I'm wearing............
I actually picked out my clothes for the week on Sunday.  I wear jeans once or twice a week to work.  Other than that, I am wearing work clothes, but it is a pretty casual environment as far as dress code goes.

What I'm doing this weekend..............
We are attending a wedding and more of the normal routine for me.

What I'm looking forward to next month..............
Weather above freezing temperatures!

What else is new.................
Just trying to get in the hang of taking calls at work and balance home life.

Thanks for reading and happy hump day!

Week/Weekend Wrap Up

It's Monday and a new week!!  Here we go (although I promise it was just Friday 5 minutes ago, ha!)

Leaving for work Friday, I noticed some signs of Spring in our yard with these daffodils!

It's been inspiring to read the tributes to Billy Graham.  Like so many others, I have imagined his homecoming into Heaven!

Here I was on Friday, waiting on the clock to leave work!

I did take a moment and geeked out by enjoying listening to the planes take off since I work so close to the airport.  (can you see the plane in the distance behind the trees?)

It was just the girls and me for the weekend so we tried a new pizza place Friday night.

Saturday, I got a hair cut, cleaned house, ran errands and of course watched a Hallmark movie!  I do enjoy my weekends and am now ready for a new week as I am fully emerged into my work duties this week.
