Lunch with Leah

When our family traveled to Brussels in January 2014, we met Leah Sabella the day we arrived.  She was at our traning event to care for the kids. She was 17 years old, a senior in high schooled, and was homeschooled.  By the end of 28 days, Leah had become like family to us.  She is from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Right after we moved to Colombia, she decided she would be attending college just 3 hours away from us.  We haven't seen her since we left Belgium in February 2014 until one Saturday in June when we drove to see her.  It was sooo good to be reunited with her and we can't wait to have her come spend weekends with us when we move back to the south.

And for a flashback, here are some Belgium pictures from 2014:

Our last night in Belgium, we took this family photo.

We enjoyed our time then and recently with Leah.  She is such a sweet, wise girl who loves Jesus.

Family Days

We spent some time with family celebrating my parents 50th Anniversary with a dinner at  Tyler and Nicole's home.

The next morning we went to see a pavillion that was dedicated in honor to my grandfather.

Wednesday night after church, we went to get yogurt!

The girls spent Thursday swimming at Lynn's.

These two always have fun together!

Oh, Atlanta

Atlanta traffic hardly phases us anymore after living in Bogota.  The girls headed back to Memphis after camp and Avery and I went to Atlanta.

First stop, Mexican food!

We had some yummy table side guacamole.

Avery went to REI and I got a pedicure, which was in order after a week at camp!

Then we headed to Turner Stadium for the Braves vs. Giants baseball game.

We had good seats behind 3rd base.

There was a slim crowd there, but it was still good to be back at the ball park after 5 years.

Coming to the USA / Camp Palmer 2016

This photo was taken at 3:45 am 3 weeks ago...and most of our bags are in this photo :)

We made it to the USA, bought our Chick-Fil-A, and were driving down the road in a mini van!!

Driving is pretty great

The view of downtown Memphis ain't too bad either.

The almost sunset over the Mississippi River.

This was our 4th year to attend our church camp called Camp Palmer.  It is a camp for the kids of our church, 1st-12th grade and the kids from Palmer Home for Children in Mississippi. We flew from Bogota to Atlanta, then drove to camp in North Alabama.
Every morning campers have a wake up call with singing and dancing.  Avery did the initial wake up call one morning.

Avery just dancing with a chicken at 7am in the morning.  Morning wake up call is one of my favorite times at camp.

Then we have devotion on the rocks

After breakfast, there is worship. In this photo, you can see Isabella and Brook.

Parker Tenent taught each morning.
