The Weekend ~ Hallmark Edition

Happy Tuesday!  

Last Friday, I subbed at White Station Middle School.  It was quite the change going from a pre-K class the day before to a middle school.

I looked outside and saw a few fall colors.   It definitely felt like fall Friday & actually, the weekend felt like winter.

I came home and proceeded to watch Hallmark for the weekend.

Saturday night, Avery & I went out to eat & to see a movie while our girls were babysitting.  I was so excited to wear my leggings & boots again!  These are still officially my favorite pair of shoes!

This was a fun memory of Brook & her friend in Bogota a year ago that came up on my memories.

 Even though it was cold & fire weather, I still enjoyed a bowl of ice cream :).

After church Sunday, we took a canoe ride on the lake.  It was a chilly, but sunny day. While Avery & I were on the canoe, the girls played with my phone :).

I made some soup Sunday night & served it in our Colombian pottery bowls.

The weekend ended of course with more Hallmark movies.  I am catching up on the past few years of movies.  I think I watched 6 this past weekend!!

Weekend Fun (a little late)

I realize it is almost time for another weekend, but here are some highlights from last weekend:

We celebrated Campbell's 1st birthday party!

Saturday, we went to our neighborhood fall dam party. 

I was excited to win a door prize!

They had a costume contest for animals, kids, and adults.  This dog just had me laughing.

Saturday night, Ashley & Pearce came over for dinner while the younger girls went to a Jr. High corn maze.

A month ago today I was at Disneyland. It is 84 degrees there today, so yeah, I am thankful to be in  the South!

Hallmark movies, thank you very much.  This is the first time I've had Hallmark in 4 years.  I'm pretty happy.

I've been listening to some broadway music, but I am ready for Christmas music!

Well, I wore boots for the first time Sunday.  It was wonderful.  Now time for other fall clothes!

I am looking forward to seeing some friends we haven't seen in almost 4 years!

What Else is New...............

I am slowly getting use to Isabella diving to where she needs to go & helping to take Brook places as well.  It's been over a month now, but this all still seems so new to me!

Subbing

I have survived my first few days a substitute teacher.  I have had mostly 4th grade over the course of 3 days.  They have been rough at several times, but I haven't left frazzled at the end of the day or not wanting to come back.  I will say, my respect for teachers has grown, especially teaching at schools in harder neighborhoods.  The day-to-day of teaching these kids, many with troubled home life & the paperwork on top of the classroom time must be exhausting.  So, you've heard it before, but now I will remind you, go thank a teacher!!

Brook's Birthday !

This was from the previous nights dinner, but she had requested cheese garlic biscuits for the week of her birthday.

And for dessert, she always requests pound cake made by our dear friend, Melva.  It was delicious!

She opened a few gifts from us:

One of her favorite shows is The Flash.

And she is a huge fan of Fixer Upper too, so this is a shirt representing that show.

She received a kit in the mail to find out her ancestry, which she is interested in too.

Isabella gave her this shout out on Instagram, & we all agreed it was the perfect picture!

I took Brook shopping at Kendra Scott for her birthday because you get 50% off on your birthday month!!
