What's Up Wednesday ~ October 2018 Edition

It is already that time for the end of the month What's Up Wednesday!

What we're eating this week...........

Monday - Tacos
Tuesday - banquet out with Avery
Wednesday - Halloween chili and cornbread
Thursday - pizza
Friday and weekend - ???

What I'm reminiscing about.......

We celebrated some birthdays this month.  First, it was Brook's birthday.
Then we celebrated my great-nephew's birthday.

What I'm loving..........

Fall weather & all the fall decorations!  Here a few more photos from our front porch.  You can see other fall decorations here.

What we've been up to.........

We have taken two weekend trips this month.  First, we went to New Orleans, where it was still so hot.
However, Avery managed to get in a fishing trip!

What I'm dreading............

I am saying goodbye at the end of the week to some co-workers who I have grown to love as I transition to a new job.

What I'm working on..............

I am working on painting a hallway and getting my house clean for a gathering this week.

What I'm excited about.............

I have some time off between jobs, so I have a to-do list and will stay busy during this time.

What I'm watching/reading...............

The new television season has begun and we are watching a few shows:  Survivor, The Voice, Blackish, The Neighborhood, This is Us and of course, most exciting...the new Hallmark Christmas movie season began last weekend!

What I'm listening to...........

This answer seems to be the same every month :).  I still listen faithfully to Greg Laurie's podcast, A New Beginning every day.

What I'm wearing..............

All the praise hands for wearing boots, sweaters, jeans and leggings again!

What I'm doing this weekend...............

I will probably celebrate, relax and start on my to-do list as I end one job and prepare to begin another.

What I'm looking forward to next month...........

Other than time off, it is my birthday month and it will be the month of decorating for Christmas and listening to Christmas music!

What else is new..............

Have a safe, happy Halloween!

Weekend Wrap Up ~ Kentucky Style

Happy Monday!  We headed out of town last Friday for another weekend trip.  We planned to meet up with Lucas and Leah for the weekend at a half way point between our homes.  I haven't seen them since their sweet wedding day in July.
There were some pretty fall colors on display, however, the pictures don't accurately show their beauty.
Love these people!
Leah is like an adopted oldest daughter to me.
We have loved Lucas since we met him too and are so happy for them!
Sweet, silly girls getting a glimpse of the elk and bison.
Me and my youngest
After some time riding in the car and eating along the way, it was time for a nature walk.
Avery likes to tent camp, but we prefer beds and indoor plumbing, so we compromised and stayed in these cute little cabins.  It was a perfect set-up and we still cooked meals outside over the fire.
And here is cute Leah as we were saying good bye showing us her corded telephone which hooks up to her cell phone.

Hope you all enjoyed this fall weekend and have a great week!

Funny Fotos ~ Fall Edition

Hi there!  Because it has been another busy week of life and work, for my Friday Favorites, I am posting funny sayings I have seen on social media.  None of these are my originals, but they all made me smile, so hopefully some will do the same for you!

More Birthday and Life Lately.........

Happy Monday!

Last week, my daughter celebrated her fourteenth birthday.  Since she has been homeschooled (with the exception of 1 year of school in South America) until this school year, this was her first year to attend school on her birthday.  I went to work late (7:30, ha, which is late for me) so I could make her breakfast and take her to school, which I had only done one other time back on her first day of school in August.
Cinnamon roll muffins and strawberries
Figuring out how the drop off car pool system works!!!
I also got off work early so I could pick up cupcakes and pick her up from school.
Her big sister surprised her with a yard birthday sign...
and a balloon, gift and another sign inside the house.
We went to one of her favorite restaurants for dinner, Jim and Nicks.
Afterwards at home, we ate cupcakes and she opened gifts and cards.

We recently just got a Trader Joe's and it has been all the excitement.  I finally went and bought a few things.  I was excited to get some pumpkin mixes, a pumpkin candle and and finally tried the Everything but the Bagel Seasoning.  Now I see why so many people rave about it.  It is so good on everything!!!!
I have my lunch break at 10:30 and usually just eat an apple because I don't want lunch type food at that time of day.  I try to go outside for a few minutes of my lunch break and also had a pumpkin treat I had bought at Trader Joe's this day.

I am loving these cool mornings!

We had a Sunday School party Friday night at a friend's house and it was a lovely evening.
Saturday and Sunday was filled with time with family and friends at home and at church.  It was a good weekend and now ready for the week!

Have a good one!

Brook's 14th Birthday

My baby girl is 14 today.  How can that be???  I am so thankful for her!

My little curly head girl :)
Who grew up to love Harry Styles!

Me and my Brook on a lake in Glacier National Park, Montana.
This girl loves fashion and her friends.
She has adjusted so well to high school.
Happy birthday to our Brook.  She brings so much joy and humor to our lives! Love you to the moon and back.
