Year in Review ~ 2020

Happy New Year!!!

Today is my yearly Year in Review post.  So basically, this means my longest post of the year!  Here are highlights from the last 12 months.  I think there is no better year to reflect back on highlights!

January

My great-niece turned 3!
My daughter and I visited a Journey to Space exhibition at Graceland.

February

We visited our daughter for her birthday and went to an Escape Room as a family.
Probably the highlight of my year was our trip to San Antonio.  We visited with friends and to our surprise, we were able to meet Kim Spradlin from Survivor.
I discovered Bucees!
We also went to Houston and saw our Colombian friends I had not seen in 3 years!

March

We went back to our daughter's college campus and moved Isabella out of her dorm when Covid shut down schools.
There was no toilet paper on the shelves.

April

We played round with Zoom backgrounds as we learned new technology.

May

We celebrated 22 years of marriage with take out food and a picnic.
I had a new great niece born!

June

I was able to see my brother for the first time in a year and a half.  This is my parents, older sister, brother and myself.  It was a fun night together.
My daughter finished her painting that is now hanging in our local airport.  Such a proud accomplishment!

July

We started renovations on our master bathroom.
We did some swimming with my greats.

August

We moved our daughter into a house for next year of college.
My daughter started virtual school at home.
We took a visit to Savannah, Georgia for a few hours on our way home from vacation.
Vacation was at Sea Island, Georgia.

September

My husband celebrated his birthday with some friends on our back porch.
We played putt-putt on stage at our local theater.
Picnic date celebrating when we met

October

We went to visit our daughter at college during fall break.
My great nephew celebrated his 4th birthday.
My daughter celebrated her Sweet 16th birthday!

November

We attended my nephew's wedding.
We had a night away at the Graceland Guest house hotel.
 I celebrated my 50th birthday!
Some of my celebrations included roller skating with my crew.

December

Christmas spent with my family
A precious new great niece was born.

That wraps up 2020.  It was a year that started out with a fun trip, then shock when I was furloughed from my job, adjustments to life at home, then adjustments to getting out and about with a mask, sadness over cancelled activities, yet thankfulness to be home with my family and then having flexibility to get some projects done at home and time with friends.  Whew, it was an emotional year.  I am thankful we made it and want to enter 2021 with hope.
