Hello Monday/Share Our Lives ~ June 10, 2024

Good morning.  I am linking up with Hello Monday and Share Our Lives today.

I worked Friday morning for a few hours then spent some time at home organizing a few things for a yard sale. However, the highlight of my Friday was finding out I won an Amazon gift card!  Y'all know all the giveaways on instagram?  I finally won one!  This wasn't a huge amount, but enough to get something extra, so I was excited.  Lawd knows, I have been finding a lot on Amazon lately.

Saturday morning, I was up early to participate in a neighborhood yard sale.  My parents and sister donated a lot and some things sold, but still had a lot of things left.  I think this was the end of me and hosting a yard sale.  Most of what I sold was just little stuff, so it wasn't a big money maker.  However, I was able to sit outside for the morning with my husband (and it wasn't hot!) & got rid of some things. I was completely exhausted afterwards.  I had originally thought I would do a few things around the house that afternoon/evening, but all I managed to do was to get this pecanberry salad from Mc Alisters and then went to bed early.

Sunday, I kept the nursery at church then came home to prep for the gummy bear party I am hosting for some of the sweetest little girls today.  I was still pretty exhausted from Saturday honestly.

Now on to share foods to make for someone else....

Currently, the number one food I make to give to someone else is sourdough bread!

Typically if taking food to someone, I like to take a breakfast food, like muffins and fruit.

For a meal, I would probably prepare a sheet pan meal with grilled chicken and vegetables that is easy to prepare, healthy and hopefully something most people would eat. Here are 3 good recipes...

Have a great day!  I'll be over here feasting on gummy bears :)

  1. I'm glad you had a good weekend, even if Friday night was exhausting. Yard sales are that for me, too, which is why I never have them. I'd prefer to pass things along to someone little bits and pieces at a time! 🤣 I am so excited about learning to make this bread Friday night! Your loaf is gone already; my son finished off the last piece last night. It's a great gift to take someone!

  3. I've reached a point where I feel like a yard sale is more work than it's worth. These days I typically just donate to a local organization I know will use it in some way or they'll resell in their shop. Your sourdough looks good! A neighbor gave me some of her starter a few years ago, but it was right before my daughter's wedding and I didn't tend to it the way you need to, so I let it go. She says I can have more whenever I'm ready.

    1. Yes, most of my yard sale prep work was just getting everything out of the house. I wouldn't have done this one, except it was a neighborhood event. The sourdough starter is definitely a commitment!

  4. Congrats on the Amazon giveaway! That is exciting and fun. Sorry the yard sale didn´t go so great but at least you got rid of some things. Your sheet pan dinners all look good; I will save for later as Alyssa tends to not like sheet pan meals. As ever, your sourdough bread looks so tasty. Have a great Monday!

    1. They are an easy way to prepare a meal, but my kids have been picky eaters too.

  6. That salad looks amazing! I remember the last yard sale I participated in.. it took me several weeks to prep and hours to set up and I barely made $300 and I decided never again. We used to just donate it all to the church who would even come pick it up and host their own giant yard sale.

    1. Oh, that is a great way to get rid of stuff. I think sometimes I wonder where is the best place to donate stuff. I need to remember this to keep me from buying random things!

  8. Well done on your win! I have never won anything off Instagram and I used to enter a lot of competitions.
The yard sale sounds like fun and at least you got rid of some things.

    1. Yes, I was just thankful to get rid of some things in my house! The pineapple chicken is a great recipe I saw on The Today Show a few years ago.

  9. We haven't had a yard sale in a long time because they don't allow them in the neighborhood. It is definitely a lot of work, and people just want to bargain you down to nothing! Hope you're having a good week!
