Funny Fotos ~ Spring/Summer Edition

Happy Monday!
Between work and a quick trip last week, blogging was sparse for me, but I am back in town, trying to back into routine again.  Speaking of routine, it will be changing a few times in the next few weeks, but more about that later.

Well, it has been a while, but here is the latest of funny fotos to hopefully bring a smile and laugh to start your week!

Such a funny show!
Where would we be without the dads in this world?
This struck me as extra funny after all the time I spent in airports the past 4 weeks.

One more year of homeschooling, coming right up!!
Yep, all the time.

Can we all say, amen?

So true :)
Ha, ha!

Weekend Wrap Up ~ 70's Donny & Marie Style

Back to Mondays!  Friday before last, I went to see Jerry Seinfeld.  This past Friday, I went to see Donny & Marie Osmond in concert, so its been a few good Friday nights and I have another fun one planned for this weekend.

Donny Osmond was for sure one of my childhood heroes (I am a child of the 70's).  Every Friday night, we watched the Donny & Marie show on tv.  That was the day of the good ol' variety shows.

I saw them in concert when I was a child and then my sister and I saw them in Vegas at their show and met them afterwards.  They are celebrating their 10th year in Vegas and still win awards every year!  They have done some Christmas shows in different cities, and this year, they are doing a summer tour.  When I heard they were coming close by, I of course had to get tickets!

Friday night after work, I met my sister and my parents and we headed to the concert.  Donny & Marie are both so talented vocally and really display that well.  They are both still active and dance quite a bit to be in their 60's :).

I listened to some music on my break at work Friday to get ready for the show.
My sister and I wore our matching Donny & Marie shirts we bought from their show in Vegas.  I mean, when else would we wear these shirts?  It has been a long time since my sister and I wore matching shirts, but the occasion called for it!
They came out together and same some cover songs.
Then Marie performed some of her old country and new songs (she has a new album and so does Donny).  She also sang a medley of her broadway tunes and even an opera song.  Her vocal range and styles are so impressive!
Then Donny came out, sang "Puppy Love", and other hits, including some of his broadway and movie hits.
They came back out together and did a little "sibling bantering routine" and sang some of their duet songs, and honored their brothers and so many other celebrities they have worked with as well.
5 decades of entertaining and I think that has been part of their success to keep them strong performers.
We all enjoyed the show very much.
If they come to a stage nearby or if you are in Vegas, go see them!

Friday Favorites ~ 4th of July Fun

I hope you all had a good holiday week!  Yesterday sure felt like another Monday to me back at work, but now its Friday, so that's a good thing!  Here are some highlights from our holiday...

Well, Tuesday night we were so excited to have a day off the next day, so we treated it like a Friday night and watched a movie.  Our girls had never seen the original Vacation movie, so we changed that this week.  It is still just as funny and I laughed at so many things.  We had recorded this off tv, so the cussing was all deleted.  This was a fun way to get the all-American holiday started!

Wednesday morning, I broke out the most expensive muffin mix I have ever purchased and made these huckleberry muffins.  I bought this mix from our trip to Montana.

The huckleberries are very small, dark purple, sweet berries.  I tasted one before I put it in the mix and it was so good.
Then we all enjoyed our 4th of July breakfast!

We enjoyed our morning at home.  I did some laundry and did some organizing, including going through cabinets and drawers.  I also made some patriotic oatmeal chocolate chip cookies with red, white and blue M&M's to take to a cookout that afternoon.  We enjoyed being at a friends house with new and old friends.  There was a pool and good food, so those are necessary for the 4th!  At the end of the night, they did some fireworks in the street.
We came home to our cove and a neighbor had purchased $400 worth of fireworks, so we had another firework show in front of our home.  We could see the city fireworks show in the distance, so it was a great view.  I then watched the end of the Macy's firework show with its patriotic music.  Here are some pictures from the firework show in our cove....

I didn't get any family photos through the day......I guess that is part of having older kids instead of younger ones, but it was a good mid-week holiday.

And now, happy weekend!!

TBB ~ July Edition

This month's TBB link up is all about vacations!
1.  Will you go on a summer vacation this year?
Yes, we went to Montana last month.  You can read about my favorite day in Glacier National Park here.

2.  Do nothing but relax or pack it all in vacation?
I would like to think I do a little a both.  I will admit, trips to NYC or Disney give me adrenaline, so I am more of a pack it all in at those destinations.  But in my last 2 trips to these destinations, I did more relaxing in these places.

3. What month do you like to vacation?
Any time works for me!  I would say in January or February, I would probably prefer a warmer destination though!

4. Cruise?  Yes or No
Yes, of course! I have been on 5 cruises, and I would go one tomorrow.  They are an affordable way to travel and see many places at once.

5. Favorite vacation tradition?
Lots of photos, souvenir momentos, local drive and see something new

6. Most memorable vacation?
Oh my goodness, there are so many! Our trip to Paris, London, Macchu Pichu, Los Angeles, Disney, Cartagena, Colombia and of course Montana!

7. Pack light or pack it all?
I am pretty good at packing light, but not too light :).

8. Hotel, condo or house?
I am good with either place, depending on who is traveling and how much space we need.  If the trip is more than a few nights, a condo or house is nice to save on meals.

9. Favorite things to eat on vacation?
I like to find local places to eat for the most part.  It is nice every once and a while to find a comfort place from home though if you need a quick meal.  If the place has a local specialty, that is always fun to try new things.  For instance, I got a little obsessed with the huckleberry in Montana.

10.  Warm or cold destinations?
I would take either destination.  :)

4th of July Decorations

Happy July!!  Y'all, we are half way through 2018 and it is time to decorate for Independence Day.

As you know, I enjoy decorating for the holidays.  So here are our home decorations this year............

This is still one of my favorite pictures I took that I like to display.

Just a few red, white and blue touches on our fireplace.

Patriotic napkins in place for the month and we have some patriotic paper products to use this week too.

I am so thankful for the USA and for our our freedom.
Hope you have a great 4th!!

2 Weekend Updates :)

Happy Monday!  It's a 4 day work week, so that is exciting.  I am recapping the past 2 weekends today, since I spent last week recapping our Montana vacation.

Last weekend, we went to my sister's house to celebrate my dad's birthday.  No pictures of my dad, sorry Dad, but we did get pictures of the babies :).

We had Dad's favorite Nothing but Bundt cake.
Both babies were reaching for all the cake!

My girls have spent this past weekend in North Carolina visiting grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins.  I had the chance to have dinner with my college roommate, who I had not seen in at least 5 years.  We talked for 4 hours at the restaurant!  We had a great visit.

Friday night, Avery and I went to see Jerry Seinfeld.  He was so funny and we laughed so much!

Saturday night, our neighborhood had a fireworks show by the lake.  It was a good show and actually wasn't too hot either!  Everyone stay safe with the fireworks this week.

Exploring Vancouver ~ August 20, 2026

Today's post is about my time exploring Vancouver a little more.  I had a full day in Vancouver and then after a trip to Whistler, I h...
