Weekend Wrap Up

Today is Columbus Day in Colombia, so it is a holiday and that is always a good thing here, especially because it means one more day out of school for Isabella!!  Brook will do school today because she has a holiday tomorrow....her birthday :)

Our weekend was low key, as most of them are, and that is okay with us.  

Saturday morning, I made pumpkin bread wtih dark chocolate chips, which was brought back from the states.  Even the girls liked it!

Most of our day was spent in pajamas.  I watched a Hallmark movie from 2010 online, which took me 5 hours to watch because it took that long to download, so I watched it in about 5 minute increments it seemed! We took showers, changed into comfly clothes and went to the Floyds Saturday evening.

Brook read the first Harry Potter book this summer and really wanted to watch the first movie.  We ordered pizza, had popcorn, and watched the movie at the Floyds, because they have quite the movie collection and it is fun to be with them!

We are in the process of getting rid of things we have sold.  If you walked into our apartment, you couldn't tell half of us are leaving 4 weeks from today.  But if you open our silverware drawer, you will see we've already sold our silverware organizer, so we just throw it all in there after we wash it!!

Sunday, we went to church and went to lunch with our teammates, Dick and Joanne Brown.  It was nice as we are trying to spend sometime with teammates before we leave.

Friday Favorites ~ Colombian Girls

This week has been great.  Isabella has been on fall break, so there has been less pressure and much more relaxtion around our household!!  We went to dinner one night with the Floyds, which was fun for all 4 of us to go to dinner on a weeknight, the girls baked muffins one morning, I spent some time with friends, & we spent time with our Colombian girls.  Y'all know the story by now of these girls.  But if you need a way to pray for them specifically, please contact me.

We went to lunch at the mall, shopping, and then got some ice cream.

We literally shopped until we dropped!  We were all so tired and it was raining when we came out of the mall.  Avery walked back to the mall to meet us with umbrellas and rain jackets for the short walk home.

Stranded ~ Halloween Candy Edition

We are enjoying our week with Isabella being home on fall break, so things are more relaxed at our house.  Brook is still doing school, but it is still an easier schedule around here without school pressures. We even were able to go out to eat last night and hang out with the Floyds!

Here is this month's edition of Stranded where each month we highlight 3 things from a category we would want on a deserted island. This month's focus is Halloween candy.

First.......candy corn

I think this is kind of like Easter Peeps....you either like it or you don't.  I like it for a snack and I like it for decorating :)

Second......fall colored M & M's

M&M's are some of my favorite candy, so make it fall colors, and it is just more fun to eat, add into other snacks. and also use for decorating.

Third....Starburst Jelly Beans, all red flavor please

I am not a fan of regular Starburst.  If I am given one or the girls are given one, we throw them away.  In my opinion, I think they are the worst candy for your teeth.  However, turn that candy into a jelly bean, and I am sold.

Weekend Wrap Up
