It's fall hodgepodge time!
2. What's one thing on your real or proverbial autumn bucket list?
My bucket list for 2025 has been to keep surviving through all the seasons!
3. Apples, pumpkins, sweet potatoes, butternut squash and cranberries are some of the top fall foods. Which one is your favorite and how do you like it prepared? Any on the list you don't eat? Which one have you had most recently?
Out of this list, I eat apples in their true form, but don't like baked apples. I love a pumpkin bread/muffins. I also enjoy sweet potatoes mashed or as fries. I like butternut squash, but rarely cook or eat it. Cranberries are only something I like mixed into a drink. I hope to do some baking with pumpkins soon. Here is one of my favorite recipes I have shared many times on the blog (hint - the magic ingredient is orange juice!):
4. 'Fall is proof that change is beautiful' is a popular sentiment. Would you agree or no? Elaborate.
I do believe change can be beautiful. It can also be hard, but getting rid of the things that don't bring you life are good to shed and then welcome life giving change. Of course, sometimes change isn't what we asked for, so we still have to adjust and try to look for the good in the change.
5. Is there a spot near you where people go to see the leaves change color? Will you try to leaf peep somewhere this fall? Lonely Planet lists the following ten places as the best for leaf peeping...of those listed which would you most like to visit?
Stowe, Vermont~Shenandoah National Park, Virginia~Columbia River Gorge, Oregon~Zion National Park, Utah~Tennessee/North Carolina border~West Virgina~Northwestern Wyoming~Wisconsin Northwoods~Northern Nevada~Ozark Highlands Scenic Byway, Arkansas
Of these areas, Arkansas is closest to me. My brother lives near Shenandoah National Park and loves that area. I have visited Zion National Park, but not in the fall. The TN/NC border is a beautiful area to see during the fall. If I could go visit one of these, I would choose Stowe, Vermont!
6. Insert your own random thought here.

I know the list says Stowe Vermont but I'm partial to New Hampshire in the fall! Really all the New England states get pretty crowded with leaf peepers this time of year. The restaurant Alec worked at all through high school (and up until he went away last month) is busiest in October because of that. I bet Shenandoah is beautiful in the fall!
ReplyDeleteI love a funny t-shirt! Ok, that orange juice in the pumpkin bread sounds genius and I love Sally's recipes. I act like I know her; I do not. I think I have all the ingredients to make that, too.
ReplyDeleteAwww, to survive all the seasons. I think you are making the best of them. I hope you have a list of fun things to look forward to.
I loved all your answers! Survival mode is the name of the game for you in 2025, my friend. Anything else you get to do that's seasonally related is a bonus, right? I'd love to find some more music to listen to this fall...especially if it's outside. I don't even know if this exists. I love that shirt!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you on change- can be beautiful but so hard and heartbreaking too- you may see that I am not big on change at all- ha!
ReplyDeleteI like butternut squash in soup form, but rarely cook it on it's own. I have a pumpkin french toast recipe that's really good. It's an overnight casserole and the pumpkin flavor isn't too strong. I think that's what I don't care for in pumpkin recipes-the heavy pumpkin flavor. Love that shirt : ) Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love all of those things about fall too but I think my favourite might be the boots!
ReplyDeleteYum! That chocolate chip pumpkin bread looks so good!
Love the tshirt! I completely forgot to put down sweet potato fries for a favorite. I actually thought about your situation when I pondered my answer to the change question. I will have to add your pumpkin bread recipe to my post tomorrow about pumpkin recipes! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that shirt -- so cute!
ReplyDeleteThe Arkansas spot isn't too far from here either!
ReplyDeleteYes to all the fall things—I love those too! Surviving all the seasons… you’ve got this, sweet friend. I’m praying for you in every season. And oh my goodness, I can almost smell that Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Bread through the screen—it looks absolutely delicious!
ReplyDeleteThe best thing about fall is Halloween. Marathon showings of the Twilight Zone and Outer Limits, and clearance candy on Nov 1st.
ReplyDeleteAutumn sounds so cozy and fun on the other side of the world. I should read these posts when it's our turn for autumn. The chocolate chip pumpkin bread looks delicious, and that T-shirt made me laugh!
