Friday Favorites

This is actually from last week, but the girls and I got hair cuts.  We always love it when we get a fresh hair cut and it had been almost a year for Brook and Isabella since they had one.
I was able to proctor at my sister's school for TCAP testing.  It made me realize how much I have missed being at her school.
Not sure if you can see it in the distance, but while having some car time with Brook this week, we noticed how pretty this view was with the trees and crosses in the distance.
The girls and I went strawberry picking this week and enjoyed it.  There were fresh strawberries everywhere!
It was great weather to be outside!
We picked 3 pints.
We came home and washed the strawberries.
For dinner, I made homemade strawberry muffins.  We have also made strawberry icees, strawberry smoothie and added strawberries to water this week.
This week marked the 4 year anniversary of this picture and the 3 year anniversary of when our family left for Bogota, Colombia.

Legacybox

Today is a brief post on Legacy Box.  This is a company I have used to transfer VHS tapes and other old recordings to be digitalized.  You have the option to have them on DVD, a flash drive or both.  I have about half of my current VHS tapes digitalized and hope to at some point submit the others I have.  With the way technology is changing, I hope that a flash drive will stand the test of time. I am finding DVD's are actually hard to play these days as DVD players are not as common anymore.

I wish I knew if or how I can transfer some of these to my You Tube account so I could show you a sample, but I'm not that tech savy.  According to my brief research, I couldn't find a way to do that.  If you know, please let me know!  Also, there are additional discounts if you buy a groupon for Legacy Box.

Trust me in saying it has been fun to watch the girls when they were little again.  Sweetness.

Weekend Wrap Up

Happy Monday and hope it was a good weekend for you.  It was a good one here, although gloomy and cold weather wise, but I didn't mind so much.

Friday, I was able to take a tour of the MTR offices at the new Crosstown Concourse.  We have two really good friends who work with MTR.

Quick history of this building.....it opened in 1927 as a Sears retail and distribution center.  It closed as a retail store in 1965 and closed as a distribution center in 1993.  It has been under renovation the past few years to be a new place for offices and apartments.
MTR (Memphis Teacher Residency) is an opportunity for college graduates to receive their masters while learning and teaching in urban education.  Their website is great and explains who they are and what they do.
Me and my sweet friend Katilyn
Outside of Crosstown Concourse
Saturday morning, we had our former neighbor, and his daughter and her husband over for brunch.  We always enjoy our time with them.  Mr. John is 93 years young.
His daughter brought me this darling London oven mitt and tea bags.  Her mother was British :)
I got these chairs for our back porch table and we sat our here to have brunch.
We actually got in our hot tub Saturday evening for the first time too!
It was a rainy Saturday afternoon, so I spent some time on the back porch, listening to the rain and reflecting on some notes from my past women's retreat and some other readings.
It was a cool night, so I made chili!
and played with Snap chat filters :)
Sunday afternoon, we went to a crawfish boil with some Sunday School classes from church.  Avery enjoyed that very much.
And in the evening. the senior high had their own crawfish boil.  I am in the picture below helping to set up their event.
They had a Hawaiian theme crawfish boil and there is Isabella :)

That was our weekend!
(And sorry for the late post.....just realized I hadn't posted this blog post this morning).

Country Concert

Last week, Avery and I went to Tupelo, MS to see Tim McGraw and Faith Hill in concert.

Our dinner plans didn't work out as expected, but we did find some decent dessert.
We stayed at the hotel that is next door to the arena.

Dusted off my cowboy boots!

They both came into the audience.

I enjoy hearing live music at concerts and they have so many great songs, so it was a good night.
