Hello Monday ~ March 31, 2025

Good Monday morning!  We are 1/4 way through with 2025!  It seems like Christmas wasn't that long ago, but I am glad the time is going right on by as of now.

Friday afternoon, I had lunch with a friend then did a little shopping.
Friday night, I joined Jenn and her friends for a dinner.
For your reference, the Three Kings of Memphis are Elvis, Jerry Lawler (a wrestler) and B.B. King.
Dinner was delicous!  I had grilled chicken over brussel sprouts.

Saturday, I spent the morning at home, which was great.  I needed some time at home after a busy week.   Last week, I sold my other furniture and re-arranged with some other furniture in the house.
Since this picture, I have changed out the lightbulb so they match now.

Saturday night, Jenn and I went for a late (for us!) dinner and I halfway watched a little of the Grizzlies game.  I was thankful for the night out after a dragon on Saturday.

Sunday morning, I went to church and rested in the afternoon before going back to a church event that night.

It looks to be a full week again, but not quite as packed as last week.
Thanks for reading and hope you have a great Monday!

Friday Favorites ~ March 28, 2025

Happy Friday!  Once again, I am always always glad to have a weekend come!

Monday morning after work, I met my parents for lunch.  I pushed my mom in her wheelchair through Hobby Lobby and she was so glad to be out in a store for the first time in months!

Tuesday after work, I met my sister and cousin for dinner.

Seeing deer on my walk in the neighborhood

Wednesday, I went to lunch with my friends in their 70's and then that night, I met 3 friends in their 30's.  We ordered 2 pitchers of margaritas.

Thursday after a long day of work, I went to dinner with Jenn at our favorite taco truck stand.

I convinced Jenn to come to the free group dance lesson Thursday night.  Here I am doing swing dancing.

I have lunch plans out for lunch today and dinner plans.  The theme of my week was eating out!

I hope you have a great weekend and thanks for reading!

Monthly Musings ~ March 27, 2025

Good morning!  I am linking up with this month's Monthly Musings talking about Spring Fashion!

1.  Favorite Spring outfit
I tend to wear a lot dresses and layer with a denim jacket.  I feel like my spring wardrobe is basically the same as my summer wardrobe!

2.  Favorite Spring fashion staples
A good pair of sandals is is staple as I begin wearing open toe shoes again.

3.  Favorite colors to wear in Spring
The main color in my wardrobe is blue and white, not necessarily together though!

4.  Do you change up your hangbag for a new season
No

5.  Favorite Spring scents
I just got a new a new body scent oil from Target I got last week.  Jenn and I bought this scent.

6. Favorite stores
Amazon, TJ Maxx/Marshalls

7. Favorite thrift
One where I have found some clothes is Clothes Mentor.  There are a few other local ones which have home items and furniture.  My youngest is queen of thrifting and this sweater she wore last weekend was a thrift find!

8.  Styles you aren't feeling this Spring
cropped tops...nor any other season!

9.  Any dress up events this Spring
I have a Spring Gala with work to attend in a few weeks.  I recently purchased a new dress and will share it here after the event.

10.  Complete wardrobe overhaul or a few pieces
I am doing a little of both.  I am slowly getting a mostly new wardrobe but just a few pieces at a time.

I recently set aside several dresses to donate so I am slowly looking for a few dresses for this spring/summer.

Hope you enjoy this spring day!

Hodgepodge ~ March 26, 2025

1. Spring has officially sprung (in the northern hemisphere anyway)...did she roll in more like a lion or more like a lamb in your neck of the woods? What needs more of your attention in terms of a good spring clean this year-your house or your garden/yard?

The first week of spring has been like a lion with the weather.  It has been very windy here lately.
I have been cleaning my house out in the way of going through so many bins, drawers, cabinets and all the little things.  My goal is to move before the end of the year.  Now, my yard always needs a spring cleaning, so I will have to do a little of that too.

2. What's put a spring in your step lately?

In no particular order...

sunshine, seeing my daughter, laughter with Jenn, lifting weights, dancing, phone calls with Heidi, hope of my future, time with friends, hugs from my greats, excitement over an upcoming trip next month

3. When you were a kid, what was the best snack to find in your lunchbox? If you didn't do the lunchbox thing, tell us what was your favorite after school snack.

I probably had a sandwich and ate my share of Twinkies.  My mom often wrote us lunchbox notes when I was in elementary school.  I could count on one hand the times I purchased lunch in 12 years of school.

4. In what area of your life are you planting seeds ?

I am trying to plant seeds in life by taking care of myself physically and emotionally.  I am trying to enjoy this spring weather by taking some walks outside when I can.

5. Why do you live where you do? Would you consider living somewhere else? Why or why not?

I live here because it feels like home.  I grew up in this area.  My parents and sister and her kids all live within 45 minutes of me.  I have a great community of friends here, for which I am so thankful.  I would consider moving somewhere else, but I think it would be a while and ideally, I would live close to home. I really just want to live near my daughters and any grandchildren one day.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

I know I just said this in the question above, but I am so thankful for my family and my community here! I have been blessed with such a great group of friends.  Through such a rough season of life, friendships have been sweeter than ever.

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

Hello Monday ~ March 24, 2025

Hello Monday friends!  I am catching up from last Thursday night on happenings in my world...

Thursday night, Brook and I went to my sister's house for family dinner.  We got to see all the greats, including the newest one born in November.
These 2 little dancers love when Brook is home!
Friday, I went through a lot of bins of childhood things.  I found this notice I had made for my parents and siblings to talk about our upcoming family vacation, summer of 1983.  Clearly, I have been planning trips for a long time!
Friday night, I went to an engagement party for my daughter's best friend and her mom is one of my closest friends. This is me and my daughter at the party.
Brook and the bride-to-be

Saturday, Jenn and I went to our favorite salad place and then walked around Target.

Saturday night, I met up with a few friends and we all brought random contributions to a charcuterie board with goodies.  It was a fun night!

Sunday morning was church, then I met a co-worker and former co-worker for a walk. It was a windy, but fun time!

Jenn came over for dinner and we blogged and watched tv.  Always a fun night of randomness!

Today, I will be working and spending time with my mom.
Hope you all have a great Monday!

Friday Favorites ~ March 21, 2025

Happy Friday!  This week has gone by fast.  That what happens when you have someone in the house with you!  It has been a good week having Brook home for spring break.  She was gone a lot with friends, but we had time at home and anytime together was great.  Prayers requested as she has another long drive tomorrow & for me as I go back to living alone.

My favorites.....

Brook and I went to get facials Monday.  It was her first and my second one I have ever had.  It feels so nice to have your face pampered from time to time.  Notice we are in our green for St. Patrick's Day. Here is before...
And after...
They sent us home with this cute bag full of great products.

We of course got frozen yogurt!

We also went to the gym for a little bit and I let her try out the aqua massage bed.

Tuesday evening, Jenn came over for a gourmet frozen cauliflower pizza :).  Afterwards, we walked in my neighborhood and went to the lake.

Wednesday morning, we met at the local flower garden and saw the tulips in bloom.  There are so many more that haven't even bloomed yet.

This was definitely a favorite this week.....when I would leave in the morning for work and see this car in the driveway!

I will recap next week the rest of the week and weekend.

Happy Friday and enjoy your weekend friends!
Thanks for reading.

Hodgepodge ~ March 19, 2025

Hi friends!  I have a daughter at home this week and I am thankful, even if she has been out several of those nights!  I am joining for the Hodgepodge this week.

1. I write the Hodgepodge questions so they'll post on Sunday, which sometimes throws me off in terms of what day it is. St. Patrick's Day will be celebrated on Monday, March 17th. Did you mark the day in some way? Wear green? Make a special meal? Watch or participate in a parade?
I wore green, but didn't participate in any festivities.

2. Do you think luck plays a part in your life? Explain.

I think ultimately God is control of my life, but I always appreciate well wishes and like to extend the same to friends.

3. Of the 15 green foods listed, which one is your favorite and how do you like it prepared? Any on the list that are a hard no for you? In general do you like fruits and veggies? As a kid did you eat them willingly or did you hide peas in your napkin hoping your momma wouldn't see?

Asparagus, avocado, broccoli, celery, cucumber, grape, green bean, kale, kiwi, lettuce, lime,
pear, peas, pistachios, spinach

My favorite of these would be avocado.  The hard no for me would be green beans.  I don't like celery, pears or cucumber either, but I could make it through those, but not green beans.  It all goes back to a childhood story.

4. What's something that makes you 'turn green'? (with envy or with illness... whichever way you want to run with it)

When I am faced with reality of seeing certain people (or their cars in certain driveways) makes me want to vomit.

5. Did you spend a lot of time outdoors as a child? Doing what? Do you spend a lot of time outdoors now? Doing what?

I went camping as a child, but we had either a travel trailer or a pop-up camper.  We had a travel trailer when the girls were younger.  I like to go to parks and take easy walks/light hikes.  I also enjoy just making a fire in the backyard on these cooler nights.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

This is a random favorite to share from last week.  I mentioned a few weeks ago I couldn't get my wireless headphones to connect to my phone.  I had a gift card to Marshalls so I picked up these earbuds for $20 and they working perfectly so far.  I haven't been on board with the earbud trend all these years, but have enjoyed these a few times already.  I am thankful for the little things that bring me joy!

Hope your day is full of joy and thanks for reading!

Friday Favorites ~ February 20, 2026

Woo hoo!  Happy Friday friends! A favorite of mine from last week was spending a morning last weekend with my sister. We went to a bakery a...
