Hello Monday ~ September 8, 2025

Happy Monday this morning to you! Here is a recap of my weekend.

I worked Friday, ran some errands, then met Jenn that night for a night of live music. We listened to a cover band for Heart and also a cover band for Huey Lewis and the News.  It seemed like the perfect night to bring out my 1985 Huey Lewis concert t-shirt.  Y'all, I bought this shirt 40 years ago from his concert!
The dinner was excellent.  I had the brisket stack and brussel sprouts.  Delicious!  I asked for my egg to be scrambled on the side instead of fried on top. I would order this again.
These ladies were awesome!  Heart was such a powerhouse female rock band & they had so many amazing hits from the 80's.
Next up, was the Huey Lewis cover band.  I loved the music and knew all of those songs too.  Collectively, I think the talent was better for the Heart cover band, but I did love the Huey portion.  It was all great & it was fun to watch people on the dance floor too.
I met one of the band members and he was interested in my knowledge of Huey Lewis and came to me after each act to see what I thought of the show.

I was up early Saturday morning to go to my sister's house to help her keep her grandkids/my greats.  Only 7 were there Saturday, but they are all 8 and under, so extra hands are always appreciated!  They were sweet and precious as usual.
Lindsay, they are all Georgia fans!

After the kids left, my sister and I went to get some Mexican food then visited the local cheesecake store. I had an individual cheesecake called Therapy, but they all looked so good!

I read this Saturday and it made me laugh.

Sunday morning, I kept the nursery at church and then one of my best friends invited me to lunch with she and her husband and son.  It meant a lot to me since this is my first weekend without Brook at home.  Sundays can be hard and lonely days for single people, especially since I am not dating anyone.  I spent the rest of the afternoon at home alone watching some episodes of Sullivan's Crossing and did some random cleaning.  I have plenty of little things to keep me busy at home and a list of things I want to watch, so I am thankful for that.

Enjoy your day and thanks for reading!

    1. It was. I like the show and am slow to make my way through the seasons though.

  2. I love that there is a local cheesecake store!! The concert on Friday sounds good! We saw a great 80's tribute band on Friday evening as well. They were super talented and it sounds like the groups you heard were talented as well. How awesome to have the HL concert t shirt from years ago (and still be able to wear it- queen is slaying!!). The rest of your weekend sounds nice- how fun to see the grands and get to spend time with friends as well. Hope you have a great Monday!

  4. She "only had 7 kids to watch"! That's a lot! You are so sweet to go help her and I'm glad you got her out and had some adult time after. So sweet of your friend to invite you to lunch. Love the t-shirt and that's impressive that you have a t-shirt from that long ago. That place looks cool and your meal also looks delish. I thought of you when I had the best brisket taco at our little street taco place.

    1. It is hard for me not to order brisket because I never make it at home. Yes, and funny, we thought there were going to be 9 kids there, so 7 seemed easier!

  5. I had such a great time Friday night! I thought it was funny about how people were stopping you over your vintage t-shirt! That Tom was definitely interested in your Huey knowledge...and maybe more than that?? I'm so glad you had lunch with Ashley and her family yesterday! I am sure those days feel long...I forget how Sundays are harder on you than other days. Noted! I look forward to seeing you tonight!
