What's Up Wednesday ~ March 2019

What we're eating this week........
Monday - Avery ate at the ball park, I ate Mexican out with a friend and the girls had leftover pizza at home
Tuesday - Meatballs, zucchini, onions, potatoes
Wednesday - church
Thursday - breakfast food
Friday - sandwiches

What I'm reminiscing about...........
Our fun trip to Oklahoma to see where the Pioneer Woman lives!  You can read our updates here and here

What I'm loving.............
No rain this past week and a half has been so nice! I am also loving that I am working from home today. Another thing I love is Saturdays and feeling somewhat caught up with housework :).

What we've been up to................
We had company at our house last weekend and it was so nice to host people here again.
We've also been up to our regular schedule of work and school.

What I'm dreading...............
Nothing at the moment actually :)

What I'm working on.....................
I am working on a graduation party for my daughter.  It is hard to believe the time will be here before we know it.

What I'm excited about.............
My daughter and I have a road trip to her college for a meeting to attend and learn more about the sorority process there. Hopefully, we will have some good car time, good food, and good memories along the way.

What I'm watching/reading...
I am watching the new season of The Voice, although I am a few episodes behind.  We find the auditions to be so entertaining by the singers and the judges.

What I'm listening to..........
Greg Laurie podcast, A New Beginning

What I'm wearing..........
As much as I like the spring weather, I am sad that is getting close to time to put away my winter boots I wear almost every day.

What I'm doing this weekend...................
Possibly attending a high school Lacrosse game, lunch with a former neighbor who is 95 years old, a 2 year old birthday party, and lunch with my parents

What I'm looking forward to next month...........
I have a weekend trip to Chattanooga, hosting a graduation party and Easter, so lots of family time!

What else is new.............
My girls have been busy cleaning up our yard and raking leaves we never did last fall.  We are trying to get the yard cleaned up for the graduation party.

Funny Fotos ~ Winter Edition

Happy Monday!  Even though we have officially started spring, I am sharing my Winter Edition of Funny Fotos.  This is a series I started several years ago and share every season.  Disclaimer:  These are not my own, but collected through other sources. These always make me smile!

These are two verses that have spoken to me lately as well that I wanted to share...

Have a great day!

Friday Favorites ~ 3/22/19

Yes, Lord, it is Friday, and that alone is a big favorite!!!

Here are a few favorites from the past week, or two:).

1.  I loved hearing about my husband and daughter's mission trip to Colombia and loved seeing pictures of them with some of our dearest friends there.

2.  I got a new dryer this month, and it is so nice to have a dependable dryer!  I am very thankful.  When we moved back to the USA, I was sure a washer and dryer would be one of my first purchases, after a home.  The home we bought had an old, but working washer and dryer, so we decided to keep them until they stopped.  The dryer finally did, which means, time could be short on the washer.  But until then, we have a 20 year old washer and a brand new dryer.

3.  During some down time of spring break, and let's face it, really any other time, we like to watch The Office and this is one of my favorite Pam quotes.  I can so relate!

4.  I used my favorite furniture paint and painted the oak vanity in our master bathroom and paint gives everything such an improvement!

5.  This week, I also highlighted my trip to Pawhuska, Oklahoma visiting the land of The Pioneer Woman.  You can read those recaps here and here
It was fun to go in the store and see these bread boxes.  Avery gave me one for Christmas and we didn't even know she sold them at her store!
These are some boots in one of the bedrooms of the lodge where The Food Network films The Pioneer Woman.
This is a sneak peak into one the drawers in the kitchen where she keeps some personal items to use while taping.
And these were some of her props used for cookbooks and shows. (when it references the January block, it means the January taping of the show).

As always, so so thankful for a Friday and wishing you all a great weekend!

Tuesday Talk ~ Pioneer Woman / Part 2

Good morning!  Today, my Tuesday Talk is all about Pioneer Woman and Pawhuska, Oklahoma.  If you missed part 1 of my Spring Break recap of this, click here.

Day 2 began with breakfast at the Mercantile.
Enjoying the hot chocolate
This is the belgian waffle with a side of eggs, bacon and sausage.  You can choose 3 toppings for the waffle and it is served with 4 different bottles of syrups...orange zest, sea salt caramel, regular and vanilla cinnamon.
We then did a little more shopping at the merc while it wasn't crowded.

We went back to the bakery and bought some cinnamon rolls to go.  We brought a cooler with us on the trip and took home so many leftovers!!!
Enjoying her drink and I enjoyed looking through cookbooks.
Y'all, there are so many cows in Oklahoma!!  We tried to wave at all of them :)

We drove out for the lodge tour and passed this landmark for Pioneer Woman fans...
We made it to the lodge and it was so fun to explore the space.  They let you look around in all the rooms.  There are bedrooms in the back of the house and a huge extra kitchen and storage rooms they added just 2 years ago.
Below is the pantry
In the big kitchen in the back, there are drawers and drawers of so many things.  There was one whole drawer of just tongs!  She also had drawers in the main kitchen with her personal items to use while taping, like mints and a hair brush.
This is where cowboy Josh lives and is where the Food network stays during taping.
Y'all, it was so windy in Oklahoma.  The wind was crazy the night before and kept me up for hours.  I guess the locals are use to all the wind.
After the visiting the lodge, we went back into town (she lives outside the town of Pawhuska...she really does live in a frontier in the middle of nowhere!) and visited her pizza place for lunch.
Where else would you find Pioneer Woman showing above a bar??
At this point of so much eating, we shared the smallest size pizza, which was delicious.  The not knots were all they are cracked up to be as well.  I bought some to bring home to freeze and serve later.
We concluded our trip in Tulsa and explored a park, The Gathering Place.  If you're ever there, it is a cool place and would be so fun for kids!  Check out their website online.

And like any good road trip, we made a stop to Starbucks and Chick-Fil-A!
Believe it or not, all my pictures didn't even make it on the blog, but hope this will give you a little insight to the world of the Pioneer Woman.  Thanks for coming on the trail with me!

Woo hoo!  Happy Friday friends! A favorite of mine from last week was spending a morning last weekend with my sister. We went to a bakery a...
