Good Friday

It's Good Friday, and even though I'll be working today, may I remember this every day and may it encourage you too.  Hope you all have a Happy Easter weekend as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, which gives us hope in life.

Easter Baskets and Decor

Today I will be sharing Easter baskets and decor with you.

This is a picture of our Easter baskets.  The one in the center is mine, circa 1970's.
Avery's mom made these darling Easter bags for the girls probably 5 years ago and I now I use these every year for them.  In the past, they received some candy and things for spring....flip flops, swimsuit, goggles, etc. Now that they are teenagers, they like to pick most of those things out themselves :).  So, I can't write what they are getting this year in case if they read this.  However, one of them knows what is going in these bags because they were with me shopping.

This is our table in our entry way. I always like to change out a seasonable printable in this frame.  This is my favorite spring printable.

I kept our decor for our dining room table centerpiece simple.

This is in our den and one of my favorite pieces I decorate for the seasons.

Our breakfast area

I filled my childhood Easter basket with eggs, which have a shimmer on them.

And last but not least, this is our spring decor for our outside table on our back porch.

Thanks for viewing our Easter home tour!

What's Up Wednesday ~ March

What we're eating this week..............
Monday - dinner at Moe's Southwest Grill
They have $5 Monday night burritos!
Tuesday - stuffed peppers and frozen pizza (for the girls)
Wednesday - spaghetti
Thursday - enchiladas
Friday - ?
Saturday - out
Sunday - Easter!

What I'm reminiscing about..............
2 years ago during Holy Week, we took a Spring Break vacation to Cartagena, Colombia. We had such a great time and this trip was one of the highlights of our time living in Colombia. It was our only family vacation in Colombia (we traveled to other places, but it was always with our teammates).  It was so cool to see we could go there and feel comfortable compared to 2 years prior, we would not have felt the same way with our cultural and language skills.
We took a boat to this island for the day

Looking back at the skyline

Old Town is the prettiest, colorful, quaint area in Colombia.

People would walk along the beach selling crazy things, and even one person was playing the accordian!

What I'm loving..................
I am finally feeling a little more confident in my job duties at work.  However, they are about to add some more to my plate to learn.  I am asking questions and learning every day.

What we've been up to.......................
This answer doesn't seem to change too much anymore from month to month.....school and work!

What I'm dreading...................
Nothing too much at the moment

What I'm working on.........................
taxes this weekend

What I'm excited about.....................................
Family summer vacation!

What I'm watching/reading.....................
Isabella and I have been watching "When Calls the Heart" each week, which we enjoy. We also have been watching "The Voice" and "Married at First Sight".

I have started to re-read "Praying for Your Teens", a great book by Jodie Berndt.

What I'm listening to...........................
I have become addicted to listening to Podcast on the way to and from work. I am still listening to Greg Laurie every day, weekly sermon from our church in Bogota, RUF Vanderbilt, and a few others I rotate between, depending on who guests are and topics.

What I'm wearing.......................
Work casual, along with my rain boots today and tomorrow!

What I'm doing this weekend..................................
It's Easter weekend!  I work Good Friday because our office never closes....even for Christmas. Saturday, we have some fun events with friends and Sunday will be spent at church and with family.

What I'm looking forward to next month........................
Dinner with an old friend and a wedding shower out of town, along with more consistent temperatures!

What else is new.......................................
I am doing my homework on painting some furniture, so I'll let you know next month if I get time to do this and if the weather cooperates.

Wicked

Sunday afternoon, our family went to see the touring broadway production of Wicked.  This is one of my favorite plays and the music is so, so good!

My favorite songs are For Good, Popular, and Defying Gravity.  Go see this if you ever get the chance!

Weekend Wrap Up

Hello Monday!

I had my first sick day on Friday from work and realized later how much it was needed.
As the day went on, I did begin to feel better.  I enjoyed being home with the girls and we made homemade pizza for lunch.  We used this easy recipe for the crust.

I ran errands later in the afternoon and was happy to hear Huey twice!
(P.S. I wasn't driving when actually taking these photos.)

Friday night, Avery and I had dinner reservations for a date night.  We heard one of my "songs" to Avery.

Our food was delicious, including this Key Lime Pie for dessert!

And this was a social media post Saturday.....

Saturday night, Eden came to spend the night.  After dinner, they played this game and we took a walk to the lake.

We really do like our neighborhood and access to such a peaceful, pretty view.

More on the weekend tomorrow.........

Friday Favorites

This week was a week of a few simple favorites.  I spent 3 out of 4 nights just coming home instead of doing anything else, and I really enjoyed that.  Meals were ready when I came home, thanks to planning and help from the girls.  I usually sit down and settle in around 7:30 or so, watch some tv, then go to bed.  This simple routine is a favorite.

Another favorite is a movie recommendation I have for you....

Go watch The Case for Christ, which is available on Netflix, if you haven't seen it yet.  It is based on the best selling book by the same title by Lee Strobel.  We watched this as a family and found it to be so powerful.  It was a great movie to see at this time of year leading up to Holy Week and Easter.

Also,
We have a few fun things planned for the weekend, and even if we didn't, I still will love you weekends.

Happy Friday!

Tuesday Talk ~ St Patrick's Day

Today I am linking up with Tuesday Talk and sharing some of our St. Patrick's Day decor and celebration.

We had our traditional green pancakes for breakfast!
And I had fun with some St. Patrick Day filters :)

We also remembered the legacy of St. Patrick, who is believed to have died on March 17, 461.

Our celebration was simple, but I am very lucky to have these 3 in my life!

Friday Favorites ~ February 20, 2026

Woo hoo!  Happy Friday friends! A favorite of mine from last week was spending a morning last weekend with my sister. We went to a bakery a...
